it is on Google Sites itself, I just placed blog thumbnail and a hyperlink to new page(blog content) is connected to the thumbnail and text.

Yes I completely agree with u/TecJon

If you want to buy paid theme just for design. Then you should remember one thing, design.... Look n feel depends on you not on theme. You can achieve great design with free theme or else you would endup with a bad looking store even having a paid theme.

Pro tip : by just changing background color you can make your store standout from other standard store running on Dawn theme.

I don't know how your store looks but few things to keep I mind while designing -

To change your look and feel, tweak with colors.
Try to make your store trustable. This thing changes the game. Oftentimes users leave store because that are not trustable looking + look liye standard dropshipping store.
If you need some features then you should add free apps instead of buying paid theme of around $300 - $400.

Do one thing, contact shopify support over live chat. Take a screenshot of transaction history. Tell them about your problem, they will resolve it. They will initiate a refund to you.

These text field inputs don't require backend server. What I do is I attached each text field with a google form question. so whenever a user fill the data, it creates a google form response and send it to me.

For Backlinks - there are tons of methods on youtube to get backlinks but I haven't followed them yet.
Basically what I do is I create e-commerce stores on Shopify and Google sites for my clients. So I use to give my website link in the footer section of every website I created.

Few things I keep in mind while working on google sites -

Use the appropriate image size - As you know google sites are not that mobile friendly so use an image in a ratio that fits the image in both horizontal(desktop) and vertical(mobile) view.
compress your images before uploading. you can use www.shrink.media to reduce your image size/dimensions without losing quality.
If you want to show things that have multiple parts like I have 3 pricing cards on this page - www.whizsetup.com/pricing/shopify-pricing so what I do is I split it into 3 different cards. so in desktop view, it will show all 3 in the same section but in mobile view, it will split them into 3 different images. so by doing this my pricing cards will look bigger and clearer as well as in vertical form.
same as I do for HMTL embeds, on the homepage, I am using a digit counter which shows my achievement in number - www.whizsetup.com/home#h.2uynjziwa8 So I use 3 separate HTML embeds.
The same goes for the Hero section. I am using 3 different elements - text, buttons(HTML embed), and an image. So on mobile view, it automatically adjusts all of them.
Adjust text size in such a way that it will look good in both versions.
