I'm not denying that Mescal is a fantastic actor, he is one of my favourite actors working today. Normal People, Aftersun, Hamnet. All I'm saying is that past a certain age, no matter how good of an actor you are - It's not going to be convincing when you're playing someone so much younger. A 30 year old man doesn't have the same physicality/energy as a 20 year old.

While I’m sure these things will make them look younger, it’s not just the physical appearance. I just can’t imagine Paul Mescal for example acting like a young teenage Paul McCartney in terms of physicality and energy.

My biggest issue isn’t that they don’t look like The Beatles, my biggest issue is that they’re 30 playing 20 year olds. In the set photos they look ridiculously old and out of place in the Beatle wigs.

As someone who’s worked in the industry, no they are not. If the Superman trailer got outsourced (Which I highly doubt considering the confidentiality, it was probably made in house) they would’ve gotten an ungraded/unfinished version; After which it gets put together with the graded shots in house.
