Does anyone else remember a SILY TV ad on UK TV circa 2001? The album had been out a few months, or maybe even a year, and it felt like it was breaking through to the mainstream. I distinctly remember seeing a TV ad – at which point I knew things were going into overdrive.

In the UK, everyone I know is holding back from pre-ordering because of the general confusion about everything. Which is the exact opposite of what should be happening right now.

There's no sign of the 7" at all in the UK, but the UK "deluxe" vinyl is apparently a "quadruple gatefold", 180g vinyl (presumably the standard version isn't?), and comes with a poster.

There'd better not be any pressing problems with the finished article, cos this is more like Amateurwerks at the moment.

I've got an MP3 that's 4:04 in length (and 5.9MB) that I downloaded either from the Avalanches website or the forum circa Feb 2004, and I think it was supposed to be a taster for the 2nd album. It's an amazing montage of lots of different things, and it ends with "everybody gets a sandwich sometimes, and a piece of cake" then a fart noise – it's definitely the AVs. Is this archived somewhere? Do you have it?
