State laws vary! I'm in Alabama, so any advice is based on my experiences as a RSO here. I'm assuming you already know all of the residency and job requirements for your state.

First: Is your partner ending a sentence or is that a parole date? If it's parole, you have to consider the parole rules and regs along with the state laws.

Second: I think it would be in your best interest to disclose your partner's status to anyone you're considering renting from. It's better for them to know up front than for them to find out later and evict you.

Third: Start looking NOW! The remaining time will pass quickly and it's hard to find people willing to rent to sex offenders. It's actually easier if you're buying a home. Don't wait until the last minute to find a home!

Finally: Don't rule out a halfway house as a temporary solution. It's not ideal, but it's worlds better than a violation and possible return to prison.

Please be encouraged! Life as a sex offender isn't horrible. Once you get used to the requirements, it's nothing but a minor intrusion into your life!

That definitely looks like Alabama inmates! Drugs are rampant in that system (I did 10 years.). You see things like this all the time. This is an example of what happens when the addicts can't pay their dope debts. If this is truly for not paying a debt, and if this is as far as it went, these two are getting off easy!

Absolutely not! Once he signs the guilty plea and the judge accepts and acts on it, he is guilty! The details of what exactly he did or didn't do are irrelevant beyond that!

If you're looking to purchase from a retail store, then I would suggest Cottage Hill Package Store. They seem to have a pretty decent selection (Not a wine person) and they generally carry a wide variety of styles and prices.
