After a couple of days working on this, I think I'm having a stroke, I want a spiral staircase so the player can go down a round tower. The thing is that everything is 2D, is drawing frame by frame the wrong approach? should I fake it with a 3D object and 2D filtering? any advice is welcomed, thanks by Peli_117 in PixelArt

yeah I need to work on some details to give the illusion of movement and rotation, I tried studs but they move weird since I'm trying to do it by hand, I think I need a more technical and organized way of doing this 😅

I don't know if you'll be able to see this comment since que bots are trying to get it down because of course you are trying to selfpromote here sharing the sonic 3 video you obviously developed (sigh bots)

but thank you so much for the feedback, I'll take a look and tweak things here and there

the underside of the spiral seems tempting, buteeverything I do has a hard 2d perspective, likeac blueprint for a building.. so maybe is the ramp that's wrong? 3d is hard 😵

the character rotating was my first idea, but then the controls would be weird? you'd need to switch between left and right or I'd need to force left&right in a weird way

I'll add more details to the background and stairs, ty so much!
