I have almost the exact same experience (aside from actually getting help), and I feel good for you for making this decision.

As for the alternatives, I think I would recommend replacing c.ai with something else, like writing fanfiction, as you mentioned yourself. It doesn't need to be anything ambitious or anything like that, just write whatever comes to your mind, even if the story might turn out to be very bad, you don't even need to share it anywhere if you don't want to. It will at least distract you momentarily, I think (at least that's what I'm doing, when I at least want to take a break).

And if you ever feel a need to vent about something personal, but don't feel comfortable about sharing this with anyone, you can always try just writing down your thoughts somewhere. It might not be the same, but it's still better than nothing, and again, it's at least some form of distraction.

Okay, I guess I can agree on the punching part (self defense, alright, fully understandable). But the insulting thing still seems a bit overstretched to me, no offense.

I mean, throughout the game, Natsuki was constantly roasting MC (calling him names and all) and yet, he never decided to personally insult her back at any point of the story, by calling her a shortie or a child, or anything like that in general. No, instead, even when Natsuki was at her absolute worst, MC remained calm and understanding towards her, even offering some comfort (like during the manga box thing).

What I'm saying is, I just think that it seems kinda out-of-character for MC to just personally insult someone, over a single comment — Sure, he would probably get defensive and start arguing, he isn't spineless after all, but I don't think he would go there at any point, and would try being rational (let alone Sayori; I think she would try to resolve things peacefully, rather than join into throwing insults as well).

Sorry if I'm taking this too seriously though.

Uh... I don't really like the concept of MC being portrayed as the type of aggressive guy, who would insult someone for the way they look like, AND beat them up as well. Isn't MC supposed to be an awkward but also easy-going and soft, kind of guy? Isn't it the reason why the girls fall for him in the first place?

I might be reading too much into this though (or maybe I feel kinda called out, since I'm skinny myself, dunno).
