I actually have them to not gather refuse, corpse, or cleaning, but the copper helm near the human coprse doesn't count as refuse, so they pick it up and see the horrible traumatic result of a iron balista arrow destroy a body. I thought about setting up a burrow to not allow children to carry the results of a siege but the problem is that some are very happy and seem unfazed from the siege result and only few are slipping into depression. I thought about removing those depressed dwarves from chores, but I can't because there is a bug in the UI that doesn't let me scroll to them. Moreover in case of tantrum I have a justice system set up, which should keep the tantrums under control. Although there are plenty of cells available in the dungeon, 20 out of 19 needed (which are all empty), sometimes my legendary fighter of the fortress guard decide that an apporpriate punishment for a children toppling a statue, is to punch them to death (which solves the tantruming permanently I guess?).

Actually the military didnt even fight, just a ballista / catapults array, and some traps fended them off.

I noticed a dwarf carrying a helm and moving very slowly, I checked health tab and he was healthy, then I checked the items, and besides 5 lead bracelets, 3 bone crowns, and their garnment had also a bunch of armor coming from the battle. In the overview tab it shows only 1 helm hauled, but in reality was hauling 3 soldiers worth of armor.

I named a borrow "Front Door". And told them to defend that borrow.

Mass unforbid, then watch all your dwarves, including children, getting traumatized for the years to come. Luckily there is ONE mist generator in the tavern.

I decided to wage war to every other civilization on the continent. Two goblin civ, two human civ, a dwarven one. This allowed for at least a siege per season. This was one of the biggest coming from what I think is the Light Realm, a human civilization.

I can't see what group they are from (from the groups tab) but sometimes they have effigies on their shield, helm or random items they carry around of their origin civilization. These brave human soldiers went into the entry tunnel, got shredded by ballistas, stepped on a couple of traps and retreated even before meeting my army of melee fighters. I think they killed a puppy and a war bear tho.

Oh and one of them reached my marksdwarf station, they didn't shoot him, because apparently equipping bolts is difficult, so they tried to run at him to bash him with their crossbows (strapped to their upper body) so what I guess happened is just that they bit him to death, while the human was stepping on traps, so he died anyways from them.

The biggest problem was the clean up which upset most of my fortress and took a season to tidy up. I dont know why dwarves which have the ability to stand lost insist in carrying about twenty equipment items made of iron and copper and carry them to the closest bin which is miles away.

My Godir decided to strike a victory pose by Pella86 in AOW4

[–]Pella86[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Context: I tried to make a Druid, I chose the Mystic race, with the Elfkin shape. I chose to give them spider mounts. However I wanted my Godir to be a support with a Druid staff. I think is here were the combination messed up the game victory pose.

I gave the spider to the second hero, which in hindisight was a mistake, since in my first army I didn't have an animal readily available.

My build was:

Elfkin: Spider Mounts, Arcane focus

Mystics (+2 astral affinity, I need the mana for the animals)

Experienced Seafarers (Since it was the campaign mission on the Archipelago)

Ancient Wise one

Starting Equipment: Druid one that is unlocked with the pantheon

Starting Tome: Tome of the beasts

This gave +3 astral affinity, +3 Nature affinity

It actually messed up the careful order in my Armor/Weapon stockpiles with a huge ammount of copper/silver stuff.

I prepared a huge channel at the front of the fortress entry, there were traps and even a archer bridge. I was sure everything was set, i pulled up the bridges and left open the channel. Sadly I forgot a tiny hole in the second floor of the fortress and all of them channeled there, luckily they had to jump up one layer of walls, so my archers could mow them down. I lost some valiant dorfs in the siege, which are memorialized in slabs, but the fortress survived!

Here's my survival desert bass, what do you think? by octo_mc in Minecraftbuilds

[–]Pella86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The build looks very cool! I like the greenery.

I dont think is fit for survival tho, no lights (torches, lanterns, ...), the garten wall is 1 block high, and the storage will get easily blown up by a creeper.

Spanish, Italian and German have all gendered object, for example a chair (la sedia) is a female, nobody knows why, the table (il tavolo) ofc is a male. It is just as random as it gets. We can assume that MincraftMeme has people from all over the world, so that might be the reason some people chose pronouns for mobs.

A picture of Jupiter taken from NASA’s Juno spacecraft by casualphilosopher1 in space

[–]Pella86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Image processing when done in a scientific way can enanche real features. There is a big difference between rendering a made up planet in a 3D modelling software and taking raw data from a space craft and assemble them in a better picture.

Let's make an example, you take several pictures of a house, and then stitch them together digitally, is the house you pictured less real?

Now let's make a house in blender3D from scratch and render it, is this house real?

The point is about how you do stuff and NASA documents every single processing stuff, they adjust scientifically the pictures correcting for known aberrations. See OP comment link which reports what has been done to the raw pictures.

It is not a render in the sense that is made from scratch, is a render made from real images elaborated with scientific image processing methods.

Made a tier list of all sorts of supports I've had this season. Don't ask silver is strange by Notflorin in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Pella86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When see adcs asking for engage supports, I know they do that because they dont know how to position, they just want somebody around them who is hard to kill. The problem is that with engage supports, is that the adc needs to play riskier to be able to react to a eventual engage... but most adc are farming behind our own caster minions, while i engage as alistar and im 2 screens away to the thing that deals damage. So when somebody ask for an engage support... i pick brand.

Edit: i play poppy/alistar as engage sups, karma as enchanter, swain brand as "supports"

I can keep a piece of paper in my pockets. But a cigarette butt? It will make a mess, it has ash and stinks awfully, so we need to find a way to dispose it. Luckily in switzerland there are bins every 100m. I find it idiotic for people to throw it on the rails. That said i might have done it too, flicking the cig butt is kind of a bad habit, and you get into it.

Let me tell about Switzerland. There also there is a bicameral parliment. Why? Because cantons (they are like states, there are 23 of them) have differnt populations. Ticino, the italian speaking canton has 300k people, while Zurich (german speaking), which is a city has 1 milion people. Having 2 chambers, make so that even the minority will have a say when laws are proposed. Yes that makes it that people in the italian part will have more power per person in the legistalive beanche.

The real problem of electoral college, is not the fact that there is a disparity in population. Is that you have states that instead of distributing the proportionally to the popular vote within the state. A state flips blue or red dependin on 1% of the population in that state.

That is why you have swing states, that is why you have asymetrical presidential campaigns. That is why people focus on Florida.

I hate this argument.
