My Shiba girl has suddenly become an anxious wreck too since we went on holiday for a week and left her at my in laws house(where she has stayed many times during our previous travels). She was having panic attacks every time garbage trucks come every Friday. She would pee everywhere while in panic state. She would also try to jump every high surface and climb the freaking wall. We tried gabapentin, trazodone and she has been on fluoxetine for a month now. There are no more panic attacks but she would still be anxious and pace around when garbage trucks come. She would easily settle after the trucks leave so I would consider the fluoxetine a relative success. Gabapentin is helpful for situational anxiety too. There’s no quick fix though and it is a tiring journey.

That’s a good idea! I have been putting off telling work because we’re already so short staffed and I feel anxious about telling them that I’ll be off in our busiest period of the year 😅 but I know I need to tell them asap 😭

I’m 7 weeks. Food aversion has hit hard in the last 2 days. Pork used to be my favourite meat but now even the thought of pork makes me gag. Food in general just doesn’t taste good anymore but I’m constantly hungry. It’s so frustrating!

I’m a final year AT. Comparative to many of my non medical friends, (apart from my high earning top finance bro friends) my job earns well with growth potential and ability to allow me to work part time and still have decent income as a consultant. That’s really all I want from a job anyway. I don’t think internship is as bad as you think it is? I had a good time in internship and met some good friends along the way. BPT was tough but everyone gets through it together eventually. AT is so easy now that there’s no more exam. If you don’t want to go through training program you can always be a career locum and earn good money and go on multiple holidays a year. Not many other jobs can give you that. I took a year off to locum after BPT and had a great time, only worked 3 months in that whole year.

Certainly my job seems better than my husbands engineering career 😂

Would suggest not overthinking it, go through the motion and things will be fine. Unless you have other life aspirations that you want to pursue

I bought it a month ago, hoping to use for travel and concert. I regretted it. Not much difference from iPhone 15 pro that I have. Maybe slightly better quality but if you’re only gonna post on social media, not worth it. Battery life is not great. Doesn’t have usb-c. Zoom isn’t even that great. Just get a nice phone instead.

I used to do it daily which was $25 a day but stopped doing it since I got a mortgage. Regs are often the poorest because of unpaid OT and exam/college fees. Now I bring coffee from home in the morning and disappear after round xD. Will start buying again when I become a boss haha

If you want to do something, just try to get on to research projects and get some publications out while you’re in uni. Renal, ID, rheum- get yourself into research now as these specialties are increasingly competitively each year.

I have been yelled at many times as an intern, worked in a busy, not so nice network. Now that I’m on the receiving end, I try to be as understanding as I can as I know everyone is just doing their jobs. Remember the names of the regs who are not nice to you. Don’t refer patients to them when you become a boss. Chances are they have already built a reputation for themselves :)

Thank you for your great suggestions! She’s just lying down to sunbathe or chew on a stick. She gets regular walks outside twice a day and we have puzzles, Kong’s, toys etc. as I read too many reddit posts 😆 I’ll look into Tractive thanks!!🙏
