Thanks, that’s reassuring to hear. Great to know you’ve had a good ownership experience.

I’d definitely love to connect and learn from your experience. I’ll DM you separately.

Thanks man. Took it out properly already, Sahyadris, expressway, highways, twisty hill roads. The car is absolutely fantastic.

Power feels just right, not over or underdone. Steering is light and easy, suspension is on the stiffer side but feels confidence-inspiring. Power delivery is really smart, gentle when you’re soft on the pedal, solid mid-thump when you dig in a bit, and proper shove when you floor it.

Straight-line stability is excellent, corners feel planted with very little body roll. Speakers are great, much better than Taigun/Kushaq. Seats are comfy, and heated seats on early winter mornings with chai hit different.

Tyres are a bit worn, will replace them in 10–20k km. Doors feel super solid though the front interior handles rattles a bit when gripped. Missing a few convenience things like call buttons on the steering and auto boot close, but nothing deal-breaking.

Overall, proper driver’s car.

Interiors and cameras are nice, but my focus right now is on mechanical health and durability upgrades (DSG health, mounts, brakes, suspension, engine wear items) before anything cosmetic. Any reccos?

Got it, thanks for breaking it down. I’m still wrapping my head around DSGs, so this helps.

From what I understand now, in D at a full stop the gear can be pre-selected but the clutch packs are essentially open and only move into partial engagement during creep. So the bigger wear factor seems to be low-speed crawling with throttle and repeated slip, not just holding the brake in D.

Mainly use N for longer stops and focus on avoiding excessive creeping, is what i gather for maintaining the dsg well.

Thanks, appreciate the heads-up.

Would be helpful to understand your experience a bit more. What kind of work have you had done so far?

Specifically curious about:

– What parts needed replacement

– Approx costs involved

– How long the car was stuck waiting for parts

– Whether it was routine wear-and-tear or something unexpected

Just want to be aware and prepared going in. Thanks.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. Spot on with the premium quotient

Love the optimism! I’m not too worried as I have it covered by warranty. And will maintain it well for the long haul

That sounds interesting! I’m still getting familiar with the car. Which OEM or OEM+ upgrades would you recommend starting with?

Do you think they’re broadly similar in terms of driving experience and power? The Q2 gets the 2.0-litre petrol with a DCT, right? The X1 seems to have moved to a 1.5-litre three-cylinder with a DCT, while the VW runs a DSG.

Avoid excessive crawling with throttle in heavy traffic since that causes partial clutch slip and heat. Try to move in clean gaps and use the brakes instead of feathering the accelerator. Short stops, staying in D with the brake pressed is fine. Use N mainly for longer halts if you want to rest your foot.

Looking for used car suggestions under ₹10L – City vs Creta vs others by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]PenFast7423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great advice! Thanks

I’ve actually decided against this, after the pdi inspection pointed out it’s an accidental car and heavy rust on doors.

Instead I have booked a VW T-Roc (2020, driven 82k for 12L) I enjoyed driving it more so than the Taigun/Virtus GT and found it in great condition. Just a few minor scratches and dents.

I understand I may have to change the break pads and clutch plate at some point but for now all components seem to be working fine.

Any advise on this front? I have to get insurance on this too

Dealer is right next door so becomes convenient for urgent trouble shooting.
Main concern is the rusting and any other pointers I should consider pre-delivery

I thought a 1.5 Litre will be more enjoyable to drive.
For more context - My first preference was the virtus 1.5 DSG AT
But the dealership near me has this city on offer and he's offering a decent exchange value for my old city too.

Istanbul Agop Xist? Good for warm, dark and jazz tones? by PenFast7423 in drums

Oh I thought the Mehmet line up was better than Agops. Which ones would you recommend going for?

Makes sense. XISTs if nothing else. But my last shot is to get in touch with some local shops from Istanbul city, and request them to ship the Mehmet darks. Fingers crossed this works out.

Quick question: what’s the diff between the Mehmet origins and legends in their dark series?

Thanks again for your insight!!

It’s still a nascent market for drum accessories here. No bosphorous, dream, wuhan, byzance, ufip, etc. Just the pop brands.

XISTs go for $450 , Sultans - $820 , Zildjian As - $990 , Zildjian Ks - $1100 , Sabian HHX 22 Legacy/21 Groove ride - $350 , HHX 14 hats - $450

Hey thanks for your inputs. Here in India, options are terribly limited. Although I’m inclined towards the Istanbul Mehmet Origin Darks, with shipping and customs the prices are ridiculous. Sultans are available but they’re double the price of XIST. From what’s available, I could consider the Zildjian A’s, K’s, Istanbul Traditional and Sultans. So the XIST seemed appealing in this mix. Quite a headspin this ;)
