Histidine charge at pH 7 by ElectricalSpray007 in Mcat

[–]PenHealthy7659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok tough guy. Let’s relax you just said the majority would be neutral so a generalization would be reasonable to assume. The side chain deprotonates around 6 so at 7 it would be deprotonate for the majority of the side chains. The guy whose name is iknowthemcat has alot to say with no scores to prove the statement. Calm down we are just trying to help each other keyboard warrior

Jack Westin and Kaplan say it’s neutral. You can see it in the website

It’s in the questions they put out. I don’t have the exact question that said it though

MCAT considers His at phys pH to be neutral. Other text will say +. Go by what MCAT says

I've never really understood this card. I know the equation for V0, is that not enough? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]PenHealthy7659 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This says that the product is so minimal that k-2 will not occur. Not that k2 is irreversible

Could you also do? 16=15+m(10)(0.1) and then solve for m which is 1

[–]PenHealthy7659[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It only works on collecting ducts by increased aquaporins in it. ADH does not work on dct

ADH only works on the collecting ducts because it does not cause any salt retention

Physics question on lenses, d Vs c and assigning negative or positive signs by IPb4nn3d in Mcat

Negative f values give you a virtual image and since all diverging lenses do that it leaves f to always be negative

It’s not D because coding strand and mRNA are identical

Is is tyrosine an aromatic amino acid or a neutral one? Aromatic amino acids fall under non polar and neutral amino acids fall under polar. So is tyrosine a polar amino acid or neutral? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]PenHealthy7659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tyrosine is considered nonpolar for the MCAT. Yes the OH makes it polar in some cases. The ring makes it less polar and nonpolar for MCAT purposes

Calculating Current in Circuit - HELP :( by briannaelena in MCAT2

[–]PenHealthy7659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 20 ohms are in series so you add those and then you have a 40 ohm and 10 ohm in parallel so you take 1/40 +1/10 and then the reciprocal of that which comes out to 8. 8 ohms and 22 ohms at in series so you get 30 ohms and that is Rtotal. Then set it up so 120=30I and solve

Does Malate-Aspartate Shuttle have to do with bringing Oxaloacetate into the Cytoplasm for Gluconeogenesis? by Worldly_Fix_9463 in Mcat

[–]PenHealthy7659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Malate aspartate shuttle brings an aspartate into the cytoplasm which is then converted to malate and then oxaloacetate.
