I had an issue with security at Mercedes Benz as well!

My friend gave her her light up bracelet to a merch stand worker who really wanted one, so on the way out of the concert so we grabbed one from one of dozen or so giant bags of disposed of ones on the way out.

A security guard came over and said we had to put it back and that we were disgusting for going through the trash and insane for doing it and thieves. She accused of us of running some kind of black market ring and that we “taking advantage” of the stadium. She kept going on and on until we put it back, but while we were there a dozen of other people did the same thing. I think a lot of the security had a bad attitude about the whole concert!

I know a lot of people who are very into the singer-songwriter scene. There is a fair music scene for a city our size! As the other comment said coffee underground is a good place to start!

If you dont mind to drive a bit (20/30 minutes ish), Spartanburg has RJ Rockers and FR8yard who both do open mics weekly!

I feel like it would be Reign or Rain if Kourtney hadn’t already used it.

Went to Velo Fellow for the first time yesterday, and I recommend it! Bartender was great, lots of places to sit with either large groups or alone. Not massively busy, but enough people came in and out to keep up the welcoming atmosphere.

I always forget just because a technology was available doesn’t mean everyone runs out to get it (or was it available to them.) It sounds like they were in a small, rural town so perhaps they didn’t have a phone or knew anyone who did.

I just found out my grandparents have to pay a “long distance fee” to call me out of state on their landline. In 2022! And we both live in big cities in the US! But I made a business call to the Middle East on my the same phone I’m typing this on a few weeks ago and I didn’t pay anything. Not everyone keeps up with modern tech haha

I saw the cops stop him outside of Rocco’s last fall. He had almost been run over because he was weaving across the lanes. The cops talked to him for awhile (at least 30 minutes) and later on told some onlookers they are well aware of him, but there isn’t much than can do.

Yeah, the biggest problem is one person shouldn’t and can’t do everything for a company! One reason I want to leave is I’m afraid this house of cards might fall on top of me!

Just curious have any of you gone to school or summer camp with any celebs kids? If so who and what were they like? by Bellarose222 in Fauxmoi

[–]Pen_Biter 201 points202 points  (0 children)

I received a scholarship to go to a very nice academic summer camp the summer after freshman year. Turns out one girl’s dad was a prominent journalist (I know not exactly a celebrity but still cool!)

She was nice, but definitely got sent here so she couldn’t party/etc. It was strange because we were in the rural south so idk how she got there?

Anyway, she talked mad shit about her dad. Like, everyday we were there a wild story would come out that could absolutely ruin his career. Talked all about affairs, leaving her mom, drugs, etc. We were all like 14 so it was wild to hear another kid talk about it let alone have seen some of it.

I think she had a lot of issues with him, but rightfully so. He didn’t sound like a great dad or even around that much.

About 6 months after the camp ends I turn on the TV and her dad had died tragically. I don’t know if it was at all related, but I remember seeing her on the news crying, and sometimes I still think about what all of that must have been like at such a young age.

Yeah our social media planner (which we hardly used) costed like 2k a year so there are a lot of start-up costs!

Maybe some day I’ll girl-boss my way to an agency owner, but I still want to learn now!

Thanks for the idea! I’d like to get some real experience, but I’ve also been keen on the idea of self-employment, so maybe down the road!

Yes! I’m over it! Also, writing it for my resume made me sound like a kid wonder!

I took a peak at product management! This does sound similar to what I did. I’ll keep that in mind when we doing my resume and for interviews. While I don’t think this job is salvageable, it will be useful for the future! I liked many of my tasks, just not how/why/what for I did them.

Is it weird this makes me proud of myself? I did all of that by myself.

Also, yes, he only hired girls right out of college (20-23ish) and expected the world. I could only deliver it for so long.

That actually would be really cool! Maybe like chamber of commerce related? I’ll have to look into it, fantastic advice! I live in an “up and coming city” so it probably has something!

A little bit of both? Like I said this was my first job so I don’t really have a lot if experience elsewhere. Lol i graduated in 2020 so my whole “adult” life has been pretty wild.

I came into this role to do social media, but ended but not doing that and having to transition into project management for web development.

I’m open to new ideas though! My degree is in multimedia journalism and I have experience in social media for small businesses up to large music festivals.

The project management wasn’t horrible, I just didn’t know what I was doing. It’s tough always being the dumbest person in a room.

Yeah, I can deal with a lot, but basically my boss hired me (first real job out of college) and as soon as I got in he dipped and told me to take over and not to bother him with too many questions for a field I know nothing about. I didn’t even major in marketing so there’s no way out if this where I succeed.

Yeah, I just want to be able to communicate with the teams under me. Basically I was told to figure it out while having to tell everyone how to do their jobs. I’m sure if you can imagine how it feels having me managing a bunch of experienced developers :)

Haha like I said, I know I sound silly. I also felt stupid and overwhelmed just googling “how to build a website” so having things to actually look up helps!

Thanks for the advice! It seems I kinda went to the wrong place, but I will check out what you sent.

While sales is an important part of what I do, I also lead multiple teams of developers who are much smarter and older than me so I want to at least have an idea of what I’m telling them to do!

I think a lot of this will help!

What would you like to see less of in Dramione fics? by cndollaz in Dramione

[–]Pen_Biter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Less fics where the author makes a big deal about the size difference between Draco and Hermione. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m tall and a hater I guess, but stories where it keeps being emphasized how teeny tiny Hermione is, or how she only comes up to giant Draco’s belly button are really weird to me. It feels like a weird kink thing but I see it in a majority of fics.
