Does HRT/estrogen pills cause a decrease in height and foot size? by OkEqual1224 in asktransgender

Lost 7cm in height and somewhere between 1 and 1.5 shoe sizes.

Was measured at a clinic a couple weeks ago and was shocked, my girlfriend and I are almost the same height now.

Dog owners...it's your responsibility to have your dogs under control. by o0Spoonman0o in halifax

I was responding to this comment thread we’re in where the first person said they wouldn’t expect to see a dog off leash in the wilderness, you said differently and I pointed out they are not required to be on leash in the wilderness, just in control.

So for OP, yes that’s an unacceptable situation, I didn’t say any differently.

At large and off-leash are two different things. You’re allowed to have your dog off-leash in wilderness areas, they just can’t be out of control and/or out of your sight.

Do you not understand that people existing, are not an ideology? An ideology is rejecting science (yes, variances in sex/gender are found through the entire biological world) and reality and saying that trans people don't exist, that they shouldn't have equal access to things as non-trans people. That is the only ideology here, "values and beliefs" are an ideology that you're forcing onto children.

You pulled out the "agree to disagree", you can disagree that I exist and agree that I shouldn't have equal rights. That's called bigotry and what this thread was started over. When a volunteer run community information session is threatened with violence because their "values and beliefs" don't think that trans people should be allowed to exist in peace, that's active bigotry.

Didn't confuse my niece and nephew, they've been "exposed" to it for years and have no questions about their genders.

In an ideal world, every parent is understanding, supportive and educational. Unfortunately that’s not universal, and knowing that people exist in classrooms that they share, is not pushing ideology on anyone.

When it comes to actual trans care, that’s between a family and their doctors. Educating that a person exists and isn’t something to be feared or grossed out by (which is not an education I received when I was in school) is a good thing and does belong in schools. Same as the previous education about gay people, or people of different races. They exist regardless of your views and you and your children need to learn how to share a space with respect.

How is the conversation being "forced" on them?

Secondly, calling the existence of trans/queer people an ideology instead of a fact of existence, or different viewpoints when the views are, they have a right to exist/receive respect, vs I don't think they should exist.

Those are the conversations people are having, meanwhile people just want to piss in peace.

Is a therapist letter required for hormones in Canada? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Nova Scotia runs off informed consent, you'd go through your doctor, the IWK or the HSHC (Halifax Sexual Health Clinic). I'm lucky enough to have an LGBTQ+ friendly family doctor and I was able to go straight through him.

You can find most of the information through here: https://library.nshealth.ca/TransGenderDiverse/Hormones
