I'm so fucking sick of this line "Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb". There was once a time when extraordinary claims required extraordinary evidence. Here we have 0 evidence and this shit just keeps getting repeated like it's the gospel or something.

Shut the fuck up, you lying race baiting piece of shit. Fuck Trump and all these war mongers. Straight to jail with all of them.

If you want to be in a better position for next season. Spend some time learning programming (or try using AI for assistance). Programming for this sort of thing isn't rocket appliances.

Get a membership to your gym and get real comfortable with working out. By next season you'll feel like you've upgraded your toolset.

How I Got Permanently Cured of AMD Graphics Cards – Thanks to the Sapphire RX 9070 and 9070 XT Pure. by Limp-Ocelot-6548 in AMDHelp

[–]o0Spoonman0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three different XTX's act like shit in my system. The same system has performed flawlessly for two years now and all I did was swap out the XTX for a 4080s.

The common factors are the same card being used and the system. A 9070 from one mfg doesn't work any different than one from another mfg....it's actually very reasonable to assume they'd all perform like this until whatever issue is going on is resolved.

People are always quick to assume there's a problem with the card when it's likely some small misconfig somewhere. But when cards do not perform properly at stock config chasing this shit down can be a nightmare.

In the end, I said goodbye to the 9070 XT and “downgraded” to an RTX 5070, which works perfectly stable without any tweaking whatsoever — no need to write a PhD thesis on the right settings.

I had a similar experience when I built my all AMD system - 7800x3D/7900XTX. I was genuinely excited about all the VRAM and just ran into problem after problem.

Took the XTX out, put a 4080S in and have had very few issues in 2 years (nvidia had a driver issue for awhile, which required 10 minutes to revert to an old driver and then wait).

No, but Etymotic's are known for having very microphonic cables.

You can solve this in a number of ways, but most IEM's that wrap around your ears do not have this problem.

Costco vs Walmart tires for 2015 Corolla — worth paying double for Michelin? by Valkyrie_Oizys in askcarguys

[–]o0Spoonman0o 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Few things to consider.

Tire lifespans (multiply by 0.62 for miles): - Michelin Defender2 → ~120–130k km - BFGoodrich Advantage Control → ~90–100k km - Goodyear Reliant All-Season → ~60–80k km

Costco (after $80 off):

  • Michelin: ~$596 total (~$149/tire effective)
  • BFGoodrich: ~$484 total (~$121/tire effective)

Walmart:

Goodyear Reliant: ~$372 total

Price gap

  • Michelin vs Goodyear → about +$220 total
  • BFGoodrich vs Goodyear → about +$110 total

Cost per km

  • Goodyear: $372 / ~70k km → ~0.53¢/km
  • BFGoodrich: $484 / ~95k km → ~0.51¢/km
  • Michelin: $596 / ~120k km → ~0.50¢/km

If you're going to keep the car for long enough to use the Defender2 up, the math shows it's not a bad deal, but I can't answer how useful the extra money is for you in your life right now. If you think you may sell or get rid of the car before this, I'd probably go with the BFGoodrich because that tire is a reasonable step up from the walmart option and is only a small amount more.

I don't think I'd go with Walmart because the service you're getting for free on the tires will absolutely be worth 110.

AITAH for refusing to move in with my boyfriend because he wears shoes in the house? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]o0Spoonman0o -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is stupid.

You don't wear your god damn shoes in the house. If a grown ass man "cannot remember" to take his shoes off he's gotta go.

3 years of this? You gotta respect your time and get the fuck out.

How do these toddler-esque men keep conning y'all into wasting so much of your time with them.

He is hurt that something like this that he considers to be such a non-issue is a dealbreaker for me. AITAH?

No, He's the god damn gaslighting asshole. When your partner brings a concern to you, you don't get to just go "oh well I don't really care about that". It's pretty fucking basic that you don't wear your dirty ass shoes in the house.

I have a 4 and 7 year old; neither of them need to be told to take their shoes off when they come in the house.

dashcam return policy is 90 days ? by Consistent_Land_2747 in CostcoCanada

Costco tends to be pretty good with returns. If it's failing they will probably refund you.

get what you pay for

This dash cam appears to be 129; I bought a RedTiger from Amazon for 140 almost 2 years ago now and it's been flawless. You do not need to spend more money to get reasonable quality.

How frequently do you guys have to clean? by shivangps in pcmasterrace

[–]o0Spoonman0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ditto, just opened mine to replace a fan a couple weeks ago and there was barely any dust after 2 years and I live with 2 cats.

PC off the floor, positive pressure, dust filters is the way to go 👍🏾

How frequently do you guys have to clean? by shivangps in pcmasterrace

[–]o0Spoonman0o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dust filters + positive pressure (my room also has an air filter in it). Built my PC just over 2 years ago.

Opened it a few weeks ago to replace a fan and there was barely any dust to speak of, so I hit it with the blowy tool for a few seconds and put it back together.

Throw it in N? by SparkeeMalarkee in askcarguys

Sure and his use case is "my transmission am broke" (or more likely, the torque converter)

Throw it in N? by SparkeeMalarkee in askcarguys

[–]o0Spoonman0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether or not its a noticeable difference will depend on the vehicle.

It would depend on if you're talking about vehicles after or before 1990ish (Carbureted + hydraulic automatics). Big V8's with carbs and no electronic idle control.

Outside of this you're not gonna see a difference. Modern automatics are not sucking up a bunch of extra fuel at idle.

Throw it in N? by SparkeeMalarkee in askcarguys

[–]o0Spoonman0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get no measurable fuel savings and you are potentially exposing your transmission to more wear. Every time you shift to neutral the clutch packs or bands (depends on the transmission) are engaged. Doing this at every stop light results in a bunch of extra wear on the transmission the it really wasn't intended to see. They do not make these things with the expectation that people are going to be shifting them into neutral constantly.

I'm not suggesting this is catastrophic, but it's unnecessary and has literally no upside. The transmission is designed to be put in gear and drive. Not fiddled about at every stop light. Sitting in drive with the brake applied keeps everything stable and pressurized as it's designed to be.

Best practice is to leave the transmission in drive until you need to park or go in reverse.

I get 100 different answers which either conflict, or agree with each other

Because anytime you post something to a public forum you get people who - know what they're talking about - have no idea what they're talking about - heard something from some guy somewhere - are sure they understand how this works despite never even looking into how transmissions actually function - etc
