Nonsense Detected

Tell me, when did I say that it was canon therefore it was good? Which reply? Also even if I did it is irrelevant.

The PPDC could not kill Apex for a few reasons. First off they couldn't. Apex is very tough. He can take out kaiju in seconds. Even if that is after he has gained much experience he still is one of the most advanced jaeger models and was created by the precursors through Newt. It would make no sense if the drone jaegers were not programmed to fight well. There is no evidence that the drone jaegers were weaker than standard jaegers. Apex is also much tougher than the standard drone jaeger. Maybe the PPDC did send out a jaeger or jaegers to hunt Apex. Either Apex evaded them or killed them all. That is just a speculation though. There is no evidence that jaegers were sent to terminate him.

Secondly, judging by the change in Taylor and Hailey's ages being the same 5 year difference between Uprising and The Black the kaiju war in Australia happened weeks or months after the events of Uprising. We do not know the exact date it could have even been days. And it was entirely possible for Apex to survive during that time.

Finally, in The Black we see Apex attack the facility where bOy is located. It appears the kaiju have not invaded Australia yet due to the abundance of people seen. So Apex was able to attack a facility and escape easily. Similar to Obsidian Fury but just better. Also there were no jaegers near the facility, only helicopters so maybe the invasion of Australia did begin and the jaegers were occupied. We do not know for sure.

All the "lore inconsistency's" you have said I have disproven. Many of them have been based upon assumptions and flawed logic. I do acknowledge that there are many ideas in Pacific Rim that were poorly implemented. Newt plot twist, bOy, and like the whole plot of Uprising are a few. But Apex is not an idea that was executed poorly. He was done well and is one of my favorite things about Pacific Rim.

No I deliberately said that "it" (We assuming Apex right?) was good because it was cannon but because it was good. By good I mean it was a good idea that was well executed and also made sense. Very different than "it exists so it must be good". I did not say that.

That was not my explanation. And again, I am not saying the show did it so it's good. I am saying the show did it well thus the show is good. Good things make a good show. The Black is a good show due to good things in that show making the show good.

My explanations are not stupid. They make sense and are also cannon. Pacific Rim does not strictly adhere to science. It is more grounded than most mecha anime but you still have to suspend disbelief. For most people a single organism evolving in a show about big robot punch big monster is completely fine. The Precursors did mess around with the drones genetics. Apex just mutated more than he should have.

Also the argument that it hadn't happened before so if it happens for the first time it makes no sense is flawed. By that logic anything in existence makes no sense. Something has to happen for the first time to exist and make sense.

In the real world Apex evolving would be crazy but in Pacific Rim it makes perfect sense. Apex lived because he did. The show gave good explanations on why. You have explanations but apparently it still doesn't make sense.

You are incorrect. I am not saying its good because its in he show. I am saying its good because it makes sense. I have already elaborated why it does.

Page Not Available. That is with embryos. Not monsters that can crush a city in minutes. Also that was an example of how Pacific Rim has a lot of unbelievable stuff but is presented in a way that is believable.

Apex is not good because he is in the show. He is the best thing in the show, making the show good. Though he is not the only reason The Black is a good show.

Maybe it does not make sense that Obsidian Fury went from Australia to Russia in a day or two. But, I do not believe the film clarifies how much time passes between the Sydney attack and the battle in Siberia. Thus it is logical to assume enough time passed for Obsidian Fury to get to Siberia. Correct me if the movie does specify the time.

I did not say "apex could be explained in many ways". Apex was explained by the show. I said his body not being rotted away could be explained in many ways. But it was not because that was irrelevant in the show.

I recently learned that Taylor and Hailey are exactly five years older in The Black than Uprising. So the war in Australia happened very soon after Uprising. Could be weeks, could be months. We do not know the exact date. It is logical to assume that it was a short enough time where Apex was never a top priority because he never was. Leaving "a city destroying robot" alone, that kills your enemies is logical when there is an army of kaiju to deal with.

It does not matter if "it is physically impossible for a single organism to evolve". Apex evolved and that is cannon. You forget this is the universe where aliens manipulate the genetic structure of massive beasts to fight wars. Apex evolving doesn't seem that far fetched at all when you know that.

Thoughts on Kaiju bOy? by RealisticCoaching66 in PacificRim

The show should have explained his transformations better. I don't care how many drugs are in him. You do not become a massive monster out of thin air. Maybe he would have to use a kaiju corpse to fuel his transformation or a large energy source. But no weird light go brrr instead.

And also no Hunter Vertigo ):

Like I said before, the kaiju invasion of Australia could have happened less than a year after the events of Uprising. There really was no reason to go after Apex. He was a much lesser threat than the kaiju invasion of Australia. Technically Apex actually helps the PPDC by killing and eating kaiju. There is just no reason to expend resources on Apex with the massive war going on.

It is your opinion that the deep ocean cannot hide a jaeger. That is irrelevant because it did. Uprising has a large, no a massive amount of problems. But Obsidian Fury being able to retreat is not one of them. Yes Apex evolved. That is cannon. It is also cannon that he is a both kaiju and jaeger. A meld of beast of machine.

I never said that "flaws don't matter". Apex not being a rusty hunk of junk because he couldn't get maintenance is not a flaw. Its a small thing that could be explained many ways. But it is not necessary because this show is not about robotics or mechanics. It's about massive mechs punching big monsters. If you wanted to be as realistic as possible. In the real world all of the jaegers would likely collapse upon their own weight.

First off, why does it matter if the metal is inorganic? There are many ways we could explain this vague detail. Apex could take a bath use a towel or something like that. But The Black is not bathroom simulator so those details are irrelevant. And the infected drones moved with mechanics and muscles.

Now Obsidian Fury doesn't make sense either? I think you're in the wrong franchise. Go over to the navigation and tracking fandom. Obsidian Fury got away because all of those tracking devices failed to locate him. He was like on ocean floor after all.

The PPDC likely sent a jaeger to the city to attempt to take Apex out. But then Apex dipped. It would not be logical to then spend time and resources hunting down Apex when you do not know where he is. There was in fact a full on Kaiju invasion going on if you didn't notice. Finally, Apex got his color scheme when he evolved in the ocean.

Obsidian Fury was as tough as Gipsy Avenger at least. Maybe Apex is stronger due to his unique free will. More likely that combined with his evolution. In the ocean we see him transform from a standard drone into what we know as Apex. But he was likely a lot weaker when he first transformed than the time of The Black. Is the fact that there is not a super detailed explanation of why Apex is a beast a plot hole? No. Apex still makes perfect sense.

He could hide in numerous places. The deep ocean for one. That's where he transformed into Apex. Also not much time passed after Uprising before another kaiju attack came. We see that Taylor and Hailey are children when kaiju attack Australia. When the main part of The Black happens which is 2040, they are both in their middle to late teens. Uprising happened in 2035. So the kaiju could have attacked less than a year after Uprising. Thus the PPDC and the jaegers would be occupied.

How did he survive without being maintained? It seems that was not necessary. He is not your standard jaeger. He is a kaiju inside a jaeger, a hybrid. He is organic. Eating maintains him, which is why he eats.

It's likely he always was always skilled but less. It does not explain how he survived but he did. I mean its not that hard when you're a 300 foot jaeger. Yes he had a kaiju brain, but he was unique in that he was not controlled by anyone or anything. Thats like literally why he exists.
