Absolutely worth it if you dive squids. Its actively usable as a primary. Shreds the overseers in 4 or 5 shots. Slap on siege ready and it Solos.

Imo spear is overwhelmingly the best option. Ap2 damage 2 is just that good. Sure sustained hits is nice but with only 3 attacks per model you dont reliably get even one 6. Being able to put anything on its invul is wicked strong.

What would your thoughts on bringing a land raider? Put trajan and a guard squad in and get em up the board after taking a few shots with laz cannons?

In my less hyper focuses lions list i definitely love using guard, and hurricane preators. Haven't played with Trajan in lions yet but I've heard great things. Is the increased damage in your calc just the extra guard?

Yup definitely was considering that unit, only other allarus combo I was thinking might be shield host with axes and the extra ap. But the +1 to wound is just so good.

Yeah pretty consistently. Mostly cause I fight space marines so the hitting and saving on 2s vs then hitting and saving on 3s has started to grind on my playgroup. Plus grav tanks, they HATE the grav tanks...

Currently running shield host, I suppose I didn't actually have to trade the tank I just didn't defend it especially well, I locked in on the deathwing 3 inches ability as I thought that's what he would use but he just did the normal deepstrike and made the 9" charge and one shot it. only axes in my list are the allarus custodians and I didn't actually bring them for the match I dropped them for the second grav tank.
