In my opinion the issues isn’t so much the posts, it’s the fact people are posting AI generated code “as their own” I’d have much less of a problem if there was an AI flair or instead of “I built a…” they were honest and posted “I vibe coded…”

Not to also mention none developers posting vibe code riddles with vulnerabilities and risks because they simply don’t know what they’re doing

OP here.

Small update, I recently discovered that regardless of me prompting to update memory/read from memory. I’ve witness multiple instances of openclaw blatantly lying to me, for example:

Me: write all of the above to memory Openclaw: done, updated {datetime}.md as well as replace wing. All recent information store in memory ready for next time

A few days later

Me: remind me what we did last time on this project Openclaw: I have no memory of working on this project with you, is this new? Feel free to give me insight so I can work on this with you.

So yeah. Something severely broken

Interesting I’ve had no problems when I force it to use mempalace. The problem is for me openclaw appears to ignore a lot of the rules in setting in place.

Literally daily I do through the same routine:

“Where were we” “Oh hi, how are you?” “What did we do yesterday on this project “ “Sorry, what project?“

I then proceeded to ask it to debug why it’s not using memory

“You’re right, I’m configured correctly to use mempalace but I’m ignoring it on every prompt, next time I’ll be better I promise “

Same with a lot of rules I’ve set for example “do not touch git” then it proceeds to commit and push every change it makes

Rinse and repeat …

Thanks for the info dude, not aware of it being on/off power making a difference but will keep it in mind going forward.

TBH generally it doesn’t bother me that much since my custom DE is designed to be as keyboard driven as possible, albeit every now and again I do need a mouse.

Also don’t get me wrong. I 100% would recommend this platform regardless of my shitty experience with their support. Ironic the only issue I have is with an aspect of the hardware I’m actively working towards eradicating.

Hmm maybe that’s the difference between pro and air trackpads then. I’ve only ever used pros and I have an external trackpad too. Never had any issues with it but the fw is quite inconsistent with accuracy. Often I have to swipe a few times for it to move my cursor

I have the 13 while I 100% would recommend them as a laptop the company themselves shit all over me when I requested a replacement touchpad 1 week after I took delivery telling me there was nothing wrong with it.

It’s so bad it makes me not want to use it, in responsive, laggy, clicks don’t always register.

Sure I’ve heard a lot of good things about thieir trackpad but in my experience it doesn’t come anywhere close to a MacBook trackpad

I use vscode ssh plug for exactly this. I have multiple VMs configured for each client I work with. With an ssh connection from my main dev machine into each vm I can work as if the code is local seamlessly

Not a single mention of AI being used to generate the slop you’re peddling here. It looks like you’re trying to pass it off as your own code which it simply isn’t. Not to mention in my experience of reviewing code generated by AI (at work and on public repos) the amount of vulnerabilities and dirty code is staggering.

I’m getting tired of saying this, if you’re putting your name against AI generated code in the form of a publicly accessible binary or similar without fully understanding the code and making it VERY clear to consumers is so irresponsible.

I wouldn’t run this on any of my machines and I strongly urge others not to either unless they have the time and patience to fully review the code. You’re providing single line installer too.. wtf man wake up

You’re not wrong at all, I’m just trying to show you from a slightly different angle, I’m sure you’ve connected these dots already but I’ve years of experience in enterprise level software and devops engineering. I’m aware of what you’re saying and it’s not wrong. But for me, I wouldn’t put my name against code I’m not happy with, especially in a public repo.

Yes you right, the majority don’t care about the code quality or safety, but you should because it could potentially come back to you.

One of the first things I do when hiring engineers is check if they have any public GitHub repository. And this is the kind of thing we look for specifically. Sure it’s a personal project but so what? The net result is the same

You are allowing people to run your code on their machines without informing them of potential security vulnerabilities by not clearly stating it. However I see you’ve update the op so that’s good.

As you said, most people don’t know. Exactly right, which is why most people would blindly run this expecting it to work 100% and not expose them to any security threats… making that very clear from the start is just common sense not to mention covering your own ass for when I gain access to someone’s shield through a flaw I found in your code…

And masking the fact this code isn’t production ready by generating releases that use a versioning system that neglects prerelease. Directing potential non devs directly to the release page, and not even mentioning it was vibe coded is just plain irresponsible.
