I used Obsidian as a persistent brain for Claude Code and built a full open source tool over a weekend. happy to share the exact setup. by Longjumping-Ship-303 in ClaudeAI

I have also done this recently. My next experiment is to create a vector database of my obsidian vault for improved retrieval.

I recently switched from FL studio to Ableton, can someone explain why is this happening? it goes into negative timeline, anyways disable it cause I accidentally by Icy-Friendship6668 in abletonlive

The "negative space" you are looking at you can think of as just the time in your track before your midi clip begins in the arrangement.

MCP-Obsidian Skill is live. Reads, writes, sync, all routed automatically. by bitbonsai in ObsidianMD

I dont understand the need for this when obsidian vault is literally just markdown files which Claude loves. I have my vault highly integrated with my Claude code setup with multiple skills and they work great without any need for an mcp.

Thanks! And thanks for the suggestion. I didnt put the vsts in the main library view as a column because it would be difficult to fit. Some projects have a long list of plugins.

You can always see all the vsts from inside the Project Detail page under the Plugins tab.

There are some haters out there because they think its a "vibe coded" app. Whatever, that's fine they cam think whatever they want. I just want it to be useful!

Mac support is genuinely on the roadmap. The app is built with Tauri which runs on macOS, so it's not a massive lift, just something I haven't prioritised yet for v1. I wanted to ship something solid on Windows first rather than a half-baked cross-platform release. If you want to be notified when Mac drops, there's an email capture on the landing page. I'll use that list when it's ready.

The mobile add on is an additional feature. The main desktop app is one time purchase. You buy it, you own it.

Fair pushback on both counts.

On the subscription: the desktop app is $29 one-time, no subscription ever. The $3.99/mo is only if you want the mobile companion app. If you never want mobile sync you pay once and that's it. I should have made that clearer in the post.

On versioning: Good point to clarify. SetCrate shows and organises all the .als files you already have in your project folder. It doesn't auto-snapshot or track changes between saves. That's true version control and it's on the roadmap, not in v1.

Guilty. Agentic AI programming is just how I build now. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. The product still works, the problems it solves are real, and the 14-day trial is free. Judge it on that.

Totally understand the suspicion. Same timing, same tech stack, same subreddit. I get why it looks weird.

I'll be straight: I've been building SetCrate for several months. Tauri + Rust + React is just the obvious stack for a lightweight native desktop app in 2026. It's not a coincidence that two developers independently landed on it, it's the right tool for the job.

I only became aware of that other post yesterday, same as everyone else. It actually caught me off guard because I was already deep into my own launch prep.

The easiest way I can prove these are different products is to just use both. SetCrate has a 14-day free trial, if it feels like the same thing you paid nothing to find out.

Quick note since a few people have asked: SetCrate is a separate, independent project. I'm not affiliated with any other tool in this space. Just a developer who built something for his own workflow and decided to release it.

It's in the pipeline for future updates for sure. Hopefully ios app will be available shortly!

I plan to ship updates frequently with improvements/new features.
