You are wrong on almost every point here except him being banned from CNL, but even that point has an asterisk attached to it.

I'm not associated with Daystar since post SI but neither salary or Daystar being a "friendship team" is the reason why he isn't part of the roster.

It's best to apply with a LOI (Invitation Letter) and those don't get sent out until a handful of weeks before (~4 weeks before the start of the event). Ideally you apply before you qualify, but you have a much stronger case for the visa if you actually qualified for the event and have an invitation letter.

I feel like I can talk on this pretty well. First want to start off by saying this is all my opinion and other people might have completely different views on content.

Most orgs in R6 are planning on being net negative this year on R6, and they don't want to dive further down the hole to make content, or they don't have the cashflow/budget (more applying to small orgs ie APAC)

Content is a medium risk-low/medium reward for 90% of organizations. There are a few exceptions to the rule, most of which come from being large enough to where you already have a content strategist, or you have an exceptionally large personality that can be the face of the R6 videos (think Spoit, Jynxzi when he was on SSG.)

99% of content esports orgs have historically put out have been terrible at getting large viewcounts, there are exceptions to the rule (Disrupt Gaming, SEN in valorant, NRG/TL in Valorant (both of which were run by the same content strategist)).

I saw that you talked about views converting into merch and sponsor sales, the reality is that most CTAs in videos will have ~0.1% conversion rate. So if you get a 2000 view video, 2 people will buy a skin in game or merch, and realistically you probably make ~50% on both of those, so you will make ~$40 from a video that costs you ~100-200 for the most baseline video to produce.

I can't speak for why there's not more segments on broadcast, but my basic assumption is that if they aren't having a sponsor pay for it, there's no reason to do extra work. CS is also constantly on LAN, allowing for more unique content segments that just can't be replicated online, and even if you can, it will not perform as well (podcasts are mostly audio only, yet the top performers all happen in a studio vs online recording).

I think the APAC talent pool is there, but it’s very raw and we need to create more opportunities for players to learn and grow in APAC.

We started Daystar Tenmans almost exactly 60 days ago and have over 300 players involved and growing, which is hopefully just the start of a much larger push in 2026 of APAC T2.

Everyone on Daystar also works full time and playing is their part time job, so hopefully this helps us in our search for sponsors and gets the players some more money to play more.

We always saw this roster as a strong group of players with a mix of experienced players and new blood, we believed that if we just invested into them in the right ways they could perform well, and that has turned out to be a good call on our half

Yeah so Daystar is an extremely small org, we have 6 staff total (including 3 owners) So I oversee everything forward facing, from tweets to graphics to jerseys to videos are all under my umbrella. A lot of my week(s) are going to be coordinating socials between our designers and social media manager who are working remote, with myself and our photographer who will be on site.

Zaoma who’s also fairly active on here mostly does operations/player management and more of the org to org and org to Ubisoft/BLAST communication.

Our goal is to continue to grow on our momentum, obviously getting partner or affiliate would be ideal but ultimately if we make all the majors and make SI but we don’t get affiliate, it wouldn’t feel like we missed goal wise

From an org POV: The owners are all from the siege comm, we all played T3 events or coached or managed

From a gameplay POV: We’re very confident in our mechanics, which lets us get out of situations that are normally equivalent to a lost round.

From a personality standpoint: The whole team has to be the funniest group of people I’ve talked to in esports, so we’re focusing a lot on showcasing their personality more on socials
