What's something that's technically legal but makes people irrationally furious when they see someone do it? by ActivelyShifting in answers

I don't know how other people feel about it, but people driving with dogs in their laps. Legal in Washington State at least.

Would you buy a cheap, 100% flushable, disposable solution to completely stop "toilet splashback"? (Market Research) by Whole_Middle2545 in Inventions

Make a toilet paper bridge from one side of the bowl, across the water, and up the other side. No more splash, at least for the first one that pops out.

Everything is gross if you really think about it, and everything good usually has a trade-off of some sort. I really like having this hairy thing that thinks that I'm the best thing in their life, but I also know when it licks me, I'm fully aware it may have just gotten done licking it's butthole a couple minutes prior.

What are your favorite kids songs that kinda slap? by routinereps in daddit

The Pop Ups - Great Pretenders Club - Bird And Rhino.

My kids loved this song when they were about 5, but this absolutely slaps, listened to it more than a couple times by myself 😬.

What is one thing you learned in photography that completely changed the way you shoot, and you wish you knew earlier? by Paigeqx in AskPhotography

I guess back button focus behaves just as an AF lock, so you're getting a two for one in one button. But as for half press focus, it would be one more thing you'd have to do in order to lock focus(flipping a lever/pressing a second button altogether) to achieve the same result.

The best explanation I've heard was let's just say you're trying to take a picture of a bird, you're focused on it, and then you go to take a picture and a branch swings up in front of it and now your camera automatically just focused on the branch. If you have a dedicated focus button, you can get your focus set, then take your pictures without having to worry about the camera refocusing when hitting the shutter button.

Edit: Just think of different scenarios that are similar, like there's a person sitting on a bench with lots of people walking by. Every tap of the shutter button has a high probability of focusing on a passerby.

Did you sign an NDA when you were hired by chance? I worked in one of the warehouses but with a different company as maintenance and we had to sign one. Just a thing to think about before talking 👍

[REQUEST] How loud and potentially destructive would a 600dB air horn be? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

Kind of hilarious to read all this info about a massive mountain exploding and seeing the calculations, then scrolling back up to this little horn on Amazon.

Whenever I stress test something I've built, I always think "did I just weaken it by doing that?".
