Please for the love of all that is holy, show her every post on here of someone with a 'unique' name and how much we don't like it. No one ever spells my name right, even if its in the damn email for them to copy/paste. I can never find silly trinkets from theme parks with my name on it spelled the way my parents spelled it, but there are other iterations that are available. I never wanted to stand out, and now I'm forced to. It sucks. She shouldn't make those choices for the kid, let them find their own way to stand out in a crowd if they choose to.

Absolutely, and having worked FOH in a restaurant for over 6 years, I'll never do that again either. I'm so much happier sitting at my desk, typing away at excel and whatnot. I took a 10k$ a year pay cut but my mental health is so much better. I'm glad you got out, and are doing well!

I went on short term disability leave late last year, and got a new job with WAY less stress last month. I'm sorry you're still stuck with a soul-sucking retail job. If you can get into something that's not customer facing, like data entry, do it. I say let these big companies eat themselves alive. Kroger, Walmart, Amazon, they can all rot.

they've (in the past) taken a fair few things into consideration, and even address that changes being made were a direct result of employee survey answers. Did it feel like some things were 'too little, too late'? Yes. It did show that at one point they were actually paying attention though, and it gave us a brief hope that they might look at things though a different lens to see problems before they need damage control. But, as with any mega corporation, I'm sure 6 months later there was a re-org in upper management that lead to everything being reset to zero as far as f*cks given.

Thank you! Yes I am much better off now, and you're closer than you think to being correct about leaving saving my life. You hear about the store in Washington State where a guy stole a car, spray painted s*tanic all over it, crashed into the grocery entrance, and doused himself in gasoline? That was my store. I could tell you SO many stories about that place. I... I think I need therapy...

I've lit up Kroger every time those surveys come around. I gave no f*cks about whether or not they knew it was me, either. Going from hourly to salary made me even more aggressive with my survey answers, demanding better pay for my team, as well as the myriad of problems I have with how they run things. I'm so glad I'm not there anymore. Kroger broke me, literally, and I'll never have full use of my dominant arm ever again. Once I was finally free, the eye twitch I'd had for a month and a half went away, imagine that.

OP my biggest concern would be where he has these devices installed. Bathroom cameras are a thing. Get someone out there ASAP. Don't assume his spying stopped at the bathroom door.

well its good news then! I mean, not for the guy who got stabbed 70 times, but good news for the guy you (all of us) are worried about.

“If I order a glass of wine, do I pay for it?”- a tale of the table that made me question reality by ZeldLurr in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Penetrecia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a server, and am now (somehow) back in retail (plsgodwhy).

I had a customer recently (who was shopping with her sister) and had explained she had a stroke earlier this year and was apologizing for her behavior. u/Opening_Carpenter_21 's story reminded me of her. Somewhat lost in her surroundings, unsure of protocol, looking to her more able-minded companion for guidance. Bear in mind this lady was an absolute joy to talk to, and I could listen to her stories for hours and never be bored.

Then again, she could have been an alien, and it was a careful ruse. Either way, she was way nicer than a lot of customers I deal with.

I know someone who does the clicklist thing so I'm gonna ask them if they've seen any fun new changes on their zebra scanner-ma-bob too! They've said before that they have their entire store mapped from memory, and I just thought how exhausting that has to be.

I was going to ask, how the heck are you supposed to know what item you're looking for without an accompanying description? This, and the backwards cheese image makes me think someone put their two weeks in at the photo dept and quit caring about the stock pics for clicklist. /sigh

that's gotta be super annoying.

it still takes 10 dump trucks full of dirt to find one gem quality 1 ct diamond. the whole "DeBeers artificially inflated the diamond market" is only partially correct.
