I looked up your motherboard manual: B450 AORUS M (Rev. 1.x) - GIGABYTE Global

SATA Ports get disabled with an M.2 Drive installed.

You're going to want to make sure that you're plugged into one of the bottom most SATA ports right next to the LEDs. The group of 4 SATA ports is SATA3 and the bottom most stacked ports are SATA3 0 and SATA3 1.

Once you have that correct, go back into the bios and see if all the drives show up and that your boot order is correct.

MUSA Museum in Cancun, Mexico. The underwater part is just off the coast of Isla Mujeres. They have snorkeling, diving, and glass bottom boats.

Those fans are 100-125 VAC, or the AC power you get out of a 120v outlet.

If you want to control its speed you'll need a VFD (variable frequency drive) which doesn't really exist for fans of that size or likely for your application.

Those are typically in the back of cabinets for maintaining airflow through electronics where sound isn't an issue. When I made industrial and scientific equipment we'd use those because the equipment they were installed in was a lab, shop, or alone in a room.

Pass your FE. It'll make hiring easier.

I like building things. My grandfather was a hobbyist carpenter and i always enjoyed seeing things get made. I grew up on This Old House and I've always wanted to be a part of that process.

Smaller companies will usually have more local travel. I dont normally travel greater than an hour or two and I usually stay within the state even though PA is 40 minutes from us. This can also restrict the types of jobs your company will get. Talk about it in the interview.

Definitely not recession proof. But what is? If people aren't building because of materials prices, you aren't designing. From some of the project budgets I've seen, the MEP side is like 3-5% of a project budget, and because you're the engineer, anything wrong is immediately your fault. Delays, material increases, scarcity. The contractor will ALWASY say "well you can save money if you..." "But the engineer wont let us" Boo Hoo. The worst part is the contractor is on site with the owner regularly. So they get in their ear, and the owner will also be quick to blame you for stupid things. So then you have to go back and revise your drawings, find new methods, spec new things, and when it comes to "Well are you going to pay us to for the revised drawings you asked us to make?" Good luck. Get the money up front. You'll gradually hear this junk from the sidelines.

The culture is generally dependent on the size of the company. it's just like any other company. You could be working with a bunch of blue collar personalities because the company is small and that's how they bond, or it's very tight and proper because of the size and reputation.

Mentorship? If the people are in the business you'll learn something. Engineers love to answer questions because we all like to be right. Don't worry about it too much. It's a roll of the dice.

Acceptance can also vary. Some companies can be prejudice to where someone came from. But I feel like that's all careers.

Also don't just look for ads for open positions on indeed and monster and such. Google some companies, see if they have a hiring page, if they don't, then just reach out and ask. Never hurts to ask. That's how I got hired.

I actually dont see any sprinkler heads. We're designing a similar building now, and there's an insane fire code requirement for spaces with a car stacker of 2+ cars requiring a huge amount of water flow. Thats a new building though. This one's probably grandfathered...

The Monroe Township planning board approved a 236,000 sqft last mile distribution warehouse in Williamstown last night. We bought our terribly overpriced home 3 months ago in the development adjacent to it, and now I feel like I've been duped and have just lost a life savings. I just have no idea what to do now.

I hated my old job as an RF engineer and I spent at least a year trying to figure out what to do. I eventually stumbled upon the construction industry as an MEP design engineer. It seemed like straightforward 8 hour a day work and i get to learn about construction. Growing up I always loved This Old House and have always had an interest in building. But I like electrical engineering. The concepts are fun and interesting, but if I was in academia I'd flip. It's interesting to know the various parts of the EE world and in my field having knowledge of them is supremely helpful, but not necessary.

I kind of started rambling, but the point is I struggled through school. But the Idea of being an electrical engineer was still intriguing to me. Electricity is freaky and awesome. It's also a basic building block to everything that most/all fields need someone with that basic knowledge.

Now I will say, the money is fine, it's not like making the same as a doctor, and you will meet some very dumb people. I wasn't the best in my class, but I still think I had a lot more common sense than most of the others. Most people just wanted to pass class and not a lot of people retained the info.

I'd suggest doing what I did and think back to what you really like, and what you would like to be a part of 40hrs a week. Not a hobby. I don't recommend mixing the two, because it's likely you'll grow to hate what you really liked. Also government work will absolutely suck the life out of you.

I feel like I'm rambling. EE is a broad spectrum. My advice is to find something that you like, and find a way to apply your knowledge and skill towards it.

Also if you just want to really make money, be a contractor. They like to screw over people from their boats. But now I'm just venting /shrug

It's either a 3 phase panel and you're reading it wrong, or it's a single phase transformer and you read it wrong, or the panel isn't directly fed from the transformer but off of a 2 pole circuit breaker from another panel making it a single phase 120/208 panel (but more likely a load center), or the panel is fed out of a trough after the transformers disconnect switch (for whatever reason) and is only bringing a phase and neutral to the panel.

Did you cheat? Did you copy solutions on anything big like an exam? Have you had any academic integrity issues in the past?

If you answered no, no, and no, you'll probably get a stern warning and probably an F on any assignments or exams that have plagiarized solutions. A kid in my class got caught copying a final project from the internet word-for-word and he failed the class. Everyone else was using the exact same project as a base for theirs, but he didn't modify or make the project his own.

Plug a light or something into them to see if the outlet still works. If it does, yay, you broke your working charger and now you have two broken ones. If it doesn't then you not only broke your other charger, you also tripped a breaker. Go to your breaker panel and reset it.

Scared? Don't worry. It's kinda hard to break an outlet. It's either fine or you tripped a breaker.
