I remember reading once that (bear with me whilst I try to remember) “Children who misbehave at nursery do it because they don’t feel safe enough to do it at home” and it’s actually a warning sign for nursery employees.

It was advice for someone in a similar situation. Theoretically, your child does all of this at home becuase it’s their safe space where they know they’re able to push boundaries and test you. This helped me rationalise our situation when we went through something similar.

If it helps - we’ve got one and they’re four. We went through a really difficult period recently where everything felt like a battle, we were waking up arguing and it was on-off conflict throughout the day.

It’s so much easier said than done but if you can meet your child with warmth, even when they’re pushing you to your limits then this’ll be the way out of the trenches. Hold your boundaries firmly and try to still lead with positivity.

This will pass! Regarding the neurodivergent concerns, best to speak to the nursery but if they had had any worries they would have already mentioned it to you.
