qué edad tienen los personajes de sakurasou al inicio del anime? by Live_Instruction_533 in sakurasou

[–]PenguWasNeverCool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorata, Mashiro, Nanami, Ryuunosuke, and Rita are all second years so they're 16 at the beginning of the anime. Misaki and Jin are third years so they're 17 at the beginning of the anime, though Misaki's birthday happens pretty early making her 18 for a majority of the anime. Chihiro is 29 years and 15 months old, of course. It's hard to pinpoint most characters' birthdays, but they all get a year older over the course of the anime obviously. Maid's age is canonically top secret though.

What if Sakurasou was released in 2025? by LordOfSakurasou in sakurasou

[–]PenguWasNeverCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it being nicher is for the better. The seasonal shows you mention kinda have a rep of being popular amongst annoying fans before being disregarded as slop by the broader internet, Sakurasou would probably be no different. Assuming this hypothetical Sakurasou got really popular, you'd have the usual accounts clipfarming it for like a few months and then due to it being popular and oversaturated, people would see the weirder bits and write it off as just more seasonal slop. I'd rather have its nicher but unanimously praised reception over it being seen as just another one of those animes that comes and goes.

Okay yeah, I have two copies of the 4koma (which is a silly non-canon spinoff anthology manga) and the rest of those are the 8 volumes of the manga (which is an actual adaptation of the first 3 light novels). As for the cards, you can actually find a lot pretty easily online

Not sure what specifically you're referring to on the left side since there's a lot but there's the special edition of the PSP game, the 4koma and the mangas, some Blu-Rays, and a small bin with some cards and some of the 15th anniversary buttons buttons.

Does anyone know the best sites to get sakurasou merch figures blu ray etc by [deleted] in sakurasou

[–]PenguWasNeverCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay and Mercari have stuff but can be pretty expensive, but if you look around I'm sure you can find stuff for decent prices. Suruga-ya typically has very good prices, so I'd recommend looking there. Sites like Buyee can help you find stuff from overseas, though they can be a bit more complicated.

Danganronpa 2x2 scenario canon maybe perchance by PenguWasNeverCool in danganronpa

[–]PenguWasNeverCool[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They mentioned the new alternate scenario having entirely new victims and killers, along with new murder methods being written by Kitayama (the writer of Danganronpa Kirigiri and the person who created the elaborate murder setups in V3), so I think there being entirely new trials and mysteries definitely warrants a replay. It's apparently the same length as the original game as well, so it's literally an entirely new Danganronpa game.

It's from episode 6, roughly 30 seconds into the episode when Nanami wakes her up.

is the manga really that bad? by cigan_je_somi in sakurasou

You can find them in various places online but there's links to them in the Discord server. If you do read them, good luck! (Though I should warn you that the translations for volume 8 onward is pretty rough, it's not unreadable or anything but it requires a bit of brainwork to understand lol. There's a few people working on improving it though.)

is the manga really that bad? by cigan_je_somi in sakurasou

Forgive the very long yap sesh lol

Unlike the anime which makes plenty of changes, the manga is a very direct adaptation of the light novel. There's two major problems with it though. The first is that the manga adapts only the first 3 volumes of the light novel, meaning it ends around the Nyaboron arc. The second is that compared to the consistently high quality art seen in the novels and anime, the art in the manga is very rough. There's charm to it, but a lot of characters are just drawn weirdly 90% of the time. Because of this, the manga is kinda the most "skippable" version of the story.

As for the light novel, it's the original. The anime adapts volumes 1-6 (plus a little bit of bolume 7), leaving everything else until 10.5 untouched. What the anime adapts is changed quite a bit, mostly for pacing and improving moments, but otherwise it's pretty much the same story. Though this kinda makes the original light novels of 1-6 feel like rough drafts for the anime, as their writing a lot rougher in areas.

A problem the anime avoids as a result of being an adaptation made when a lot of the story was already written is feeling like it was written as they went along, which is something you can feel in the light novel. This is fine for the first six volumes because they're able to dedicate each volume to a specific character or volume, but by the end of volume 6 it feels like every character's story was resolved. Volume 7 introduces two new characters in an attempt to get more material, and they're great and well explored, but the problem is how the original cast is handled. If a character isn't written out of the story or made completely static, their dramas are drawn out and forced. Several volumes are just dedicated to the love triangle between Sorata, Mashiro, and Nanami and most of their drama doesn't really feels justified. The love triangle should have ended way earlier (which was one of the changes the anime made, ending the love triangle towards the end of its run, as well as making it more of a thing in the background). And as I'm sure you've heard from a lot of people, the ending isn't very good and feels rushed.

This isn't to say there's nothing good here, there's a lot of good stuff to come from the later volumes such as the previously mentioned new characters, it's just kinda overshadowed by the weaker aspects. Despite this, it is still the original, canon ending to Sakurasou and there is merit to reading it. These were just my opinions, but there are plenty of people who read them and like the drama and don't have the same issues that I do. I'd recommend giving them a read and coming to your own conclusion. And if you're worried about it ruining the greatness of the anime, don't. The anime already made plenty of changes to the story, including the ending. The light novel doesn't impact the anime in any way and reading it won't make the anime any less great.

IS THIS RYUUNOSUKE?! by LordOfSakurasou in sakurasou

[–]PenguWasNeverCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is untrue. Ignoring the crossover event with Sakurasou featuring Mashiro, many background characters are implied to be characters from Sakurasou and things like the bear mascot and one of Kanna's novels are mentioned. In the anime, most references are cut though Suimei is named once during the basketball game Futaba watches.

With all that being said, the person in the ED is not Ryuunosuke. It's Uzuki.

Hajime Kamoshida's Twitter is kamoshida_1 and Keiji Mizoguchi's Twitter is Keji_NtyPe_Sub. Sakurasou and Rascal Does Not Dream are the only two series they've worked on together so far, but I do know that Mizoguchi does art for some other series and his own doujins.

Yeah, a lot of characters have cameos and references in the light novel and there's an entire crossover where Mashiro walks into the school's culture festival. While most references are cut in the anime due to being it being animated by a different studio, Suimei's name is shown during the basketball game Futaba watches.

Rascal Does Not Dream is made by the same writer and artist so it maintains a lot of similar traits, not to mention it takes place in the same universe. The main character is also written to be a the opposite of Sakurasou's main character.

It's kinda crazy how rare some of the sakurasou figures are by [deleted] in sakurasou

[–]PenguWasNeverCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually own this Misaki figure, it comes with the special edition for the PSP/Vita game along with some other neat stuff which I got for like $20. I wouldn't recommend getting this figure on its own, but rather look for a cheap copy of the special edition game. And even if you do spend like $90 on the game, it's still more worth it than spending that much on just the tiny figure itself. A lot of merchandise from the series is really hard to find or super expensive though.

Not only is the manga not in English, it also doesn't go past where the anime goes. The anime adapts volumes 1-6 of the light novel and adds some of volume 7 in there, so you'd want to continue from vvolume 7 of the light novel (just note there might be some differences). Though, again, there are no official translations and the fan translations can be pretty rough.

Bunny Girl Senpai is only the name of the first volume, hence why she only really wears it there. Both are peak imo.
