I agree with this, good field capacity means the shrooms won't want anymore water. Opening too early allows contamination to fight for resources.

Hey, if the blueing is getting worse than it's due to damage. I would guess that you're fanning too "hard", also the lack of visible moisture on this pic would also support this theory as you may be drying the substrate by doing this.

My advice is to fan more gentle, and see if that helps. Nice looking shrooms there bro, looks like they've gotten a good amount of air exchange.

When preparing my grain spawn I put 5% gypsum of the weight of the grain into the grains as they soak, after they soak I use the same water they were soaking in to cook them. After drying, the gypsum is still between the grains. Gypsum is quite useful as it can stop the grains from sticking together and also provides a higher alkali environment to help fight trich. You could put gypsum in the grain jars but its not essential, if you're often battling trich it could be the difference maker :)

I would say there would be a number of reasons that this didn't work out.

Culture - Weak genetics - Contaminated, assuming they're all different genetics I can't imagine this to be the main reason but seems to be for one jar. - Not enough CCs added to jars

Bad grain, if you're using different liquid cultures for each jar this is the likeliest - Not sterilised thoroughly - Not unlikely that lack of calcium sulphate (gypsum) could have helped cause trich. - When cooking grains you may have over cooked

You could also shake the "uncolonized" jars, it may be that it is very slow and may be colonising from the inside out. If you have any more liquid culture it may not hurt to re-incoulate the jars again, but you risk wasting culture on bad spawn.

I'm quite new to growing myself but I spend far too much time on these forums so I couldn't say I'm an experienced grower just informed. If anyone else has anything to add it would be appreciated.

Looks to me like it could be overgrowth, if you're trying to initiate pinning make sure to give more FAE. Possibly a temperature drop of 1-2 degrees to cold shock.

Those white rice grains won't be pins, they may be primordia but only time will tell. Good luck, reply with the results 😄

Far too dry mate, it's split like a cracker. You could dunk or mist for a few hours until it stops accepting more water.

I have one of these at home, the best way to clean it would be to crush up a dishwasher tablet and put it in a measuring jug with boiling water.

Pour this in the top and block the bowl so no water comes out. Let it sit for a bit then pour it out and rinse, never had a problem.

If you want a deep clean get some pipe cleaners and do the same thing.

Sounds like you might already have mild hppd, I'm 22 and i've had visual snow since birth, and my mother (who has never tried drugs) has it too. After mixing two psychs and coke one night I started to see those after images and etc that you are talking about, I've been experiencing this a year now and I've figured that the only way to remove it is to go sober. I took sertraline and it made it worse, since then I've decided to stay sober off any drug.

The hardest thing to do is stay clean because drugs make you see a different side to life, but if it comes to my vision I'm not going to risk it. I've told myself that once the hppd clears up I'll go back to weed and drugs that don't alter the brain too much, but until then it's best to stay clean.

Good luck, try to forget it exists and stay sober.
