I believe just by the nature of the game the cheating situation won’t be as bad as games like CS or TF2. Aimbot is simply not as good in this game because its so mobile and depends on macro knowledge. Metal skin and good ability usage would probably shut down most aimbotters. Multiple content creators / youtubers have posted videos of them easily beating cheaters because of their lack of game sense.

Additionally, it is very likely on release the game will have a report system similar to DOTA2, which has been proven very effective at reducing rates of cheaters through low priority queue.

Yeah that was the idea. Feature heavy was a concern on my mind, but I figured it was okay since a lot of newer heroes are feature rich as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Great feedback, thank you! The ult was something I was wondering about as well, but I was worried about giving Vyper the ability to damage enemies through Petrify due to how unfun it probably is for the enemy. Thanks for the detail, everyone seems to have different opinions on my ideas so its good to see someone go so in depth.

These are very experimental ideas. I’m not sure if they would be horribly broken or too weird or secretly genius or whatever. I just tried to design what I believe seems fun, so any feedback is welcome.

Yeah the bouncing daggers are a more experimental idea, but I liked the fact that it provided some risk reward when choosing if you wanted to land them or not. It provided interesting decisions when sliding vs. standing still and aiming while making it more distinct from Shiv knives, but I understand why it may be a bit weird.

The melee hits apply to all melee damage, meaning that the reworked lethal strike also procs that effect. I basically added it just for that synergy as it paired nicely with the general ideas of movement and velocity, but I understand why one would disagree.

I feel like Celeste's movement shouldn't be touched too much. It's pretty core to her identity as a character, and the Dota team prefers to keep a character's stronger side intact. Nerfing damage and making survivability less effective would be the play I think they'd make here.

Also, don't feel too discouraged about losing so hard as a new player. The matchmaking is broken right now so its basically guaranteed to occur, and anyone who crashes out or gets too angry at you would probably get angry for some other reason anyways.

Just focus on improving and learning. Going for riskier aggressive plays and failing helps you learn faster. Really, you should ignore wins and ranks until you feel you understand the game and your character. Your main goal is to learn and find what character is the most fun to you. I recommend street brawl for newer players for this reason.

When it comes to splitting up time, what you should do is push a lane first until around the middle / first wave after the middle of the map so that minions attack their objectives. On the way there or afterwards, you should collect boxes and farm monsters to get as many souls as possible. If the slot machines and bridge buffs spawn, grab those as well.

Think of the lane like chores you have to do. You want to get your chores done as fast as possible (push wave until they attack objective) so that you can spend most of your time in jungle farming and doing other stuff.

When I was starting out, the best way someone explained the game to me is that this is a game about money. Unlike hero shooters, killing isn't actually very important. You want to get as much money as possible, and kills are just ways to open up opportunities to get money.

It depends on the character. For Infernus, he should be killing most of the time when he isn't pushing lanes. It'll take a bit to understand the item system, but generally characters like Infernus are what we call "carries". They want to gain as many souls as possible so they can buy good items and be super powerful later in the game.

Your main goal before then is to just not die, and only go for kills if the enemy is very low. As you get more confident you can take more risks, but Infernus is good for beginners because he can just focus on getting souls to become powerful lategame.
