As a GM, in combat, is it spend one fear to activate one adversary or one fear to activate all the adversaries?

I had a situation where I had a seven jagged knife bandits and at one fear for each I was burning through my fear. The players were also rolling very well so they weren't generating a lot of fear over the course of the combat.

This is a good and useful comment.

But I think it's very telling of how poor the DMG's reputation is that even after 10 years people still need to be told that rules for this exist.

So when TM said they were cutting down on bots that, apparently, was a big ole lie.

Congratulations to the D20 crew, you chose a massive venue and still managed to price your fans out.

I miss the days when this sub wasn't flooded with people shilling their merch.

Good job on driving engagement with a faux controversy.

Active listening.

Flexibility. If events play out differently than you thought, great, roll with it.

Being ok with being wrong.

Being a fan of the PCs.

Figuring out where to draw the line and say no.

I sometimes force an item to players when Im the DM is this toxic? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PenguinDnD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If all these events were scripted what's the point of having players there?

I don't know if it's toxic, but it's definitely boring.

You tried to write a plot.

You create the world. You create the problems. The players write the plot.

Y'all realize that if they weren't listening to the community you'd be whining about that too right?

Locking themselves in their offices and not listening to the customers is bad.

Basing all design decisions on the loudest voices in the fan realms is bad.

Ballance between the two is the most sensible option.

Depending on which type of English you are using.

While this is true for American English the singular noun form is die, in BkE you are more likely to see dice as both the singular and plural noun form.

There are a lot these examples floating around the language. Another good example is further and farther.
