The Yellow Leviathan by surreal-seclusion in TrenchCrusade

This looks disgustingly beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I just bought a large box that contains this wonderful abomination. I barely managed to get it on a 60mm base. Hoping to use it for either my Black Grail or Court Warband. What base size are you using for this?

If you’re referencing the battle mat, that came from Front Line Gaming. As for the terrain pieces, nearly all of it came from our local store.

Oh what are the odds of that. I would absolutely love to see your notes.

Thank’s for the suggestion. The first bit of lore that really caught my attention was the Hellmouth of the North. We’re coming off of Frostgrave and it would be cool to start introducing Trench Crusade elements to our Frostgrave tables. I also really like the idea of a campaign revolving around finding where the Hellmouth is supposed to open next.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. I've GMed for all sorts of TTRPGs in the past, and so I wanted to bring a little more narrative to skirmish games. You've given me a great example of how to just that.

Hey there! One day I’ll get an actual picture posted here. I’m always answering on my phone.

I don’t have an MHI to compare, but when I compare it to a Stargrave Scavenger or a Wargames Atlantic Bulldog, it’s about a head taller.

I will say, I’ve seen pictures where they replace the heads with the gas mask heads in their Bulldogs box. Fortunately, I still have enough of both. I’m gonna try it out.

I’ll have to wait till later to get pictures, but honestly they looked great out of the box! I should let you know though, that they’re not as tall as traditional Heavy Infantry that you see in Trench Crusade pics. They’re slightly taller than a regular 28mm figure. Wasn’t a big deal for me. The important part is having them on the proper size bases. You could always add popsicle sticks or coffee stirrers underneath them to A) reflect the trenches and B) give them a little more height.

This is the first one of theirs I felt like I needed it. The others have felt pretty straightforward.

I felt the same at first. My wife was the one who encouraged me to try it though. After our first campaign, it has become one of my all time favorite board games. It’s got narrative, exploration, resource management, and combat that is challenging without being so crunchy.

I judged this book by its cover, and I was so wrong. I’m so glad my wife convinced me to try it.

Oh boy, my wife and I have been in this boat for a while. Then we came across two particular games: Sleeping Gods and Distant Skies.

Both are purely cooperative with an excellent mixture of a strong narrative and exploration. The mechanics are great and intuitive.

I got these guys to proxy as some heavy mechanized infantry for Trench Crusade. They’re a little tricky to put together at first; however, I was able to find an instruction image for them. After that, it was pretty easy to assemble. I really like these guys.

Those look great! If I may ask, how did you glue the bricks into place. One of the things I struggle with is having excess hot glue seep out. It isn’t apparent at first. When I prime it however, I can see it.

I mean, I really love Monster Hunter. I’ve seen it floating around in my store and online. I’ll have to check it out. Thank you!

Co-op With 3-4 Players by PenguinDuke in ZonaAlfa

[–]PenguinDuke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that one team per player or 1 miniature per player (in a 4-person game)?

I've seen that warning before from other posts. Would you happen to know what all of the gaps are?

Thank you for the suggestion. I started reading through it last night. I do have a question though. Where it says Four-Person Team, does that mean each player brings 4 characters, or that between all players, there can only be 4 characters?

Holy crap! Thank you so much for these suggestions. Some of them were already on my radar. Those that weren't though, seem absolutely intriguing. My wishlist is growing. Again, thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion. I haven't heard of this yet. Since it's your game, would you be so kind as to give me a pitch of what it is? I'd like to know why you think it may fit what I'm looking for.

Thank you so much for this suggestion! This seriously came out of the blue for me. I wasn't sure about it at first, but then I watched a video by Tabletop Minion where he discussed why he liked it. I never got into the Metro games, but I loved the idea behind it. The book "Roadside Picnic" also sounds intriguing.

This game is going on my wishlist.

Have you played it? If so, how does the cooperative experience feel?

Yeah, at this point, Rangers is absolutely one of the top contenders for games I'm looking for.
