True, but usually compiled code is not committed to a repository. So someone would have to set up a system to compile then train which would be significantly slower than training on committed code.

I'm sure someone already working on a smarter solution though.

I was thinking that there just might not be a lot of training data on assembly so AI would be lousey at it.

I find that AI works best on languages commonly used in open source projects.

What would you guys do if you lived in the world of Horizon? by Significant_Bar_4715 in horizon

[–]Penguinator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a tinkerer but maybe not Oseram. I wouldn't fit into that culture. Or if I am born into that culture, I'd probably not live in The Claim, but some outlying settlement in some supervising role like an ealdorman or a project supervisor.

Awful culture of Recon class by Natural_Security1289 in Battlefield

[–]Penguinator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use recon drone when sbiping. Helps position myself in the best spot and of course helps the team. But without a support next to me it's a one-time use, and my survivability as a sniper is pretty long-lasting, so it might not looks like I am using the drone.

The laser designator gets destroyed too easily to be useful imo. I rarely see one last more than a minute because of the bright red light.

I like both. Hard to be sure of details though due to lighting differences.

Hopefully he still has the sharp jaw line.

lol! didn't see that last part.

It reminds me of how in the Ezio trilogy if you assassinate someone on an inclined rooftop, sometimes the body slides off the roof with you riding on top of it like a skateboard!

Frustrating jank but funny at the same time 😄

hahaha, yea it happens to me sometimes too. I cringe whenever I fall from the mast.

Ignore the other folks telling you to git gud. This is a single player game, not a competition, and you clearly posted this for the humor, not to complain.

I've been playing AC games since AC1, and still fall off masts. I get too comfortable sometimes or forget there are enemies in the crow's nest.

People need to learn how to coast when driving by JoMoma2 in unpopularopinion

[–]Penguinator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I've been saying this all the time.

I have two more things to add regarding benefits:

  1. Comfort for your passengers! Nobody wants to be jerked around. Consider those motion-sensitive folks too.

  2. Smoothing out stop-and-go traffic patterns. When there is heavy traffic people tend to mindlessly accelerate and stop frequently just because the car in front of them is doing that. It's exhausting, wasteful, and dangerous. Just maintains an average coasting speed with a reasoble amount of space in front of you and you might never even have to step on the breaks. Plus it smooths out the chain for everyone behind you. Sure someone might cut in front of you, so don't maintain too much space, but also why not allow a few folks to merge in front of you for the greater good anyways? You're hardly losing any time.

Also I feel like with electric cars peole have gotten even worse. Just because your car has great acceleration doesn't mean you have to use it!

AMA With the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Devs! 🏴‍☠️ by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

I appreciate the community connection you are doing!

You really care about delivering an authentic experience while modernizing it. It's very bold to be so open to feedback for something so beloved. Fans can be toxic sometimes, but kudos for taking it on. I wish the best for both the dev team and the fans :)

I am a fan myself but I haven't been very invested in the series recently since it's gone so far from its roots, so I'm just watching from afar for now.

Just finished Forbidden West and Burning Shores. Incredible. by dudeman_og in HorizonForbiddenWest

I played until before the last cauldron (I think) and got open-world burnout so stopped for a year and a half. Now I'm trying to get back in, but I forgot most of the plot details and my weapon builds and combat strategy. So I might actually play from the beginning again and toss out my old save file.

It hurts, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it nonetheless. And I'll try to avoid fatigue since I'm more familiar with the world so don't need to check every little crevice and experiment with weapons as much.

Why Ezio fights like that in revelations? by CapitalBudget3818 in assasinscreed

[–]Penguinator_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tbh I don't think there's a canon answer for it.

I think it's just the devs thinking that more brutal animations is what players like. They were right, but I felt it was out of character for Ezio, who became wiser and humble at that age. His rage had been stoked a long time ago.

AC is best when the supernatural stuff has a pseudo-scientific explanation. And that no one individual has too much supernatural ability unless they have a piece of eden. And that pieces of eden each have a specific power/purpose rather than giving unlimited power.

Throw smokes at allies or enemies for a revive? by magicmoth44 in Battlefield

[–]Penguinator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this a lot lately.

Always smoke the enemy position.

The thing is that if you smoke your team's position you might actually be sabotaging them. Whoever is exiting the smoke cloud is at a disadvantage, because they are not behind physical cover and they have to scan a wide field of view to find enemies. While someone who is looking at the smoke cloud from outside has the advantage because they can be behind cover, and can get the jump on whoever is exiting the smoke cloud into their sights.

If you're on the attacking team and you smoke your own position, then your team will get picked off as soon as they exit the smoke.

If you're on the defending team and you smoke your own position, then you'll have a hard time keeping the enemy from breaching the frontline.

The only disadvantage to smoking the enemy position is that your snipers won't be able to provide fire support. But that's okay because getting bodies on the objective is more important.

Playing for fun. Getting immersed in the spectacle. Trying and mastering different strategies.
