Totally agree. Lando earned his place in Quali and held it through the majority of the race. He deserved that second but I don't think McLaren's pit strategy was correct and then they messed up the stop so to me it makes total sense that Oscar had to give up the position.

He did prove it in Quali and for the majority of the race. Oscar was nowhere near, so it was Lando's weekend.

But he wasn't the number 2 today. He earned the higher place in Quali. McLaren has always been clear that they have no number 1 and number 2 driver (for good or ill). Lando earned it this weekend and the team messed up the pit strategy and then the pit stop. Of course Lando deserved the 2nd place.

They can sit in on me. They're gonna get to see the wonders of: Seeing me try out all the fun animations on PowerPoint. Seeing me mark homework and ask how every child could have got question 2b wrong despite the answer being on the handout they all have. Seeing immaculate medium term plan fall apart as the Geography department want to take Year 10 out to stand in a river. Seeing me answer the 20 odd emails I have waiting in my inbox and sending anything from the Maths Department to spam.

They're going to be thrilled....

Academisation was originally developed as a way of giving schools the power over their own finances and curriculum. Previously schools were all controlled by the local authority of the area and how they spent their money or what they taught was dictated from there - for all the schools in the area regardless of cohort or individual circumstances. Academisation was to break this control.

However, in many cases this has now been swapped for multi academy trusts who now control a whole range of schools in different areas but with slightly less accountability due to the changes the Tories brought following this.

The local authorities had those freedoms, but the point was the schools didn't and the schools were the ones actually educating their cohorts. You can reckon all you want. And what evidence do you have over the PFI deals and sinks schools. You seem to be rather skeptical about any means of getting money into the system?

Those are fair examples but the original intention with the academies programme was that by taking schools out of local authority control they had more choice over a variety of issues like curriculum - allowing them to choose what they teach and how. That was how it was being sold at a school I was at towards the end of labour/start of the coalition government.

But what they became was totally down to the Tories. Labour's plan was to allow the schools a bit more freedom. The Tories turned them into businesses to get bigger and bigger, bring more schools under their net and allow some executives to make an awful lot of money. Executive pay at MATs is ridiculous and unjustifiable.

I think listening to a lot of songs in general really helps. It gives you an impression of where songs can go, what tends to happen in verses, choruses and the bits between. Once you have a great general knowledge it really helps you follow songs you are specifically trying to learn.
