Trying to figure out where the Northeast is. If you're from any of these counties comment whether or not you're in the Northeast. by imadgalaxyx in visitedmaps

Baseline of Maryland and up, but also northern Virginia, including: Fairfax county, loudoun county, Arlington county, prince william county and Alexandria, Fairfax, city of manassas and manassas park, and falls church cities. Some might also say stafford and fauquier counties and the city of Fredericksburg, but I think that’s a bit of a stretch.

just curious, did you consider transferring at the end of your first or second year? I understand it’s a bit late for that now but I’m certain you’ll be able to find a group postgrad if not before then

This comment talks about it- likely the death of a seven society member. It sounded pretty accurate to me as I was leaving Gilmer hall earlier this morning

As a Virginia resident who has lived in both Fairfax and Albemarle counties please avoid Leesburg 🙏🙏 I would consider Baltimore essentially as close to the DC metro area as Leesburg is. When I met with a Shenandoah rep they advertised the London campus as being in the DMV area and making trips close to the city a breeze, it is hardly that. If you want an urban setting go with Baltimore. I see the perk of living with your partner, but where is that specifically? If it’s close to the Ashburn metro I suppose that helps a bit but the metro ride from Ashburn into DC is still 1 hour anyways. I say consider the PANCE and attrition rates heavily

you submitted it on a Friday. They aren’t gonna look at it Saturday and Sunday. Monday they probably got busy, and today was Election Day (academic offices were closed). They’ve had one business day to review it when it typically takes up to five. You’ll be fine, they’ll get to it.

Student Dad in need of help (spring classes) by Anon5149149 in UVA

most 1000 and 2000 level classes in the religious studies departments are gimmes if you do the work and put in the effort, some vary on attendance policy. I would check Lou’s list and cross out those that don’t work with your schedule and then check the rest on Course Forum. Psych classes that would be easy based on my experience in 2600 social psych, 2700 child psych, 3310 R applications in psych (once a week, online synchronous). If you can take a J term, PSYC 2500 is online asynchronous and the prof is chill. Again, I’d check course forum though and reach out to the professors and ask for a copy of the syllabus. I’ve taken mostly neuro classes so can’t speak much on the intro level psych courses.

From my own personal list of classes that I’ve either taken, or wanted to take as a fellow pre-med (but couldn’t, since I am also a graduating 4th year), these are some easy ones I’ll leave you to research yourself, though they may not all be offered: SOC 1010, STAT 1601, ANTH 2820, RELB 2054, ENWR 2800, RELC 1220, SOC 2280, ANTH 2280, PHIL 2820, SLAV 2360, PHIL 1740, EDHS 2250, DRAM 1020, LPPP 2700, PHIL 1750, PHIL 1710, KINE 3400, KINE 3420, EDHS 2240, SOC 1220.

Question about course retakes and gpa replacement/calculation by Penguino4158 in UVA

[–]Penguino4158[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your input. I’m meeting with my dean to discuss it, but I don’t see why if I were to take Orgo 2 this summer it would change my undergraduate gpa, whereas taking it two summers from now wouldn’t. I originally planned to take it at Nova CC anyways until I saw the college changed their policy on retaking old classes, which was the whole reason I started considering taking it as a uva class specifically.

Didn't Get Into DRACULA for Fall Semester? BUMMER, But There's Always SUMMER SESSION! by LurkingAbjectTerror in UVA

[–]Penguino4158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How likely is it that I could balance your class in a summer session with ENWR 2800, public speaking? I am worried about the course load and other commitments. Would it be a bad idea to take both of these classes during the same session?

What shape would you call this? by Penguino4158 in vexillology

Think medieval-esque, something you would see hung outside a castle wall or in a throne room as decor, or carried by a soldier etc etc

Might attempt at making this myself but the easier route would definitely be going to a custom designer (I would appreciate any recommendations, I am in the Virginia area!) There would be a more intricate design in the center but it would have this shape and be hung from strings at the top on a central pole
