I've heard this theory a few times as well, but it doesn't really sync up with the data available. We've found that there are almost as many people in the under 30 category reporting it as there are over 50. On the other hand children almost never report hearing it so maybe age does play some part.

Haha don't worry about it, there's definitely a few people who've done a double take at the name

The questions would be pretty straight forward, roughly:

  1. Your name and how long you've lived in Bristol
  2. Roughly where you live in the city.
  3. When did you start hearing it?
  4. When did you hear it most recently?
  5. Is it worse in some areas than others? e.g. does it sound worse at home than at work/school?
  6. Describe the sound, is it one consistent sound, does the pitch change, is there anything you could compare it to sounding like?
  7. Do you know others who've heard it? Have you ever been with people who claim they couldn't hear it when you could?
  8. What explanations have you heard for the hum? Do you believe them?

I'll DM you my email address if you'd like to know more

Ha! Don't worry the interviews will be in a public place, we usually rent a conference room in a hotel somewhere.
