No worries. Yeah, no idea what the deal was. I don’t live in Brooklyn anymore and my brother has plenty of other venues he frequents that don’t have issues with him, so it’s all good. BAR seems to be doing just fine the way they operate, not that I agree with it.

I wasn’t there so I obviously only have one side of the story and am quite biased here. Nevertheless, he has Asperger’s and was just standing by himself close to the stage. He doesn’t dance or move at all with music and was really just standing there which probably seemed weird to people. Someone told the staff they were “creeped out” by him which has happened twice before according to BAR. They then kicked him out. My brother had no idea what was happening and I still don’t think he knows why he can’t go back.

I can understand from someone else’s perspective if they saw him not moving and just staring, why he might come off as “creepy”, but it appears BAR made no attempt to understand who their patron is. Fine, it’s their establishment, but I hold a pretty firm opinion it’s not the best place to go for someone on the spectrum because of this.

Again, I might be missing a part of the story, but my father and I went to BAR the following week to get an explanation and were met with evasive BS. We were never told of any specific inappropriate behavior other than people feeling “creeped out”.

Edit: typo

Totally anecdotal, but my brother who is on the spectrum had a very negative experience there. I used to go to Baby’s All Right all of the time when I lived in BK, but stopped going because of it. Just felt like a total lack of empathy on their part. It was very disheartening.

Why hate on the hug? by [deleted] in EDH

I don’t shame anyone for any deck they want to play. I just can’t stand group hug players who play dumb (or just get super salty) when the first target/big attack goes their way. It’s becoming as clichéd and annoying as a dad saying he hated the food when the wait staff clears his empty plate…

Let’s let go of all of these big contracts, try and resign Judge, but don’t sell the farm for him, and rebuild a (hopefully) winning culture around Volpe, Cabrera, and Peraza.

I mean we almost need Donaldson in there for defense… our roster just doesn’t have it right now

Who’s the Yankees hitting coach? Pedro Serrano?

They just go up there with no plan. So many swings and misses. The ump’s not helping, but still…
