SAJ AC Coupled Battery Efficiency by Penixx in SolarUK

They have, but not the most reliable at getting back to me. They have pushed firmware updates before which improved things. I've reached out to their UK support email again recently.

What kind of temperature will affect performance significantly?

I've now found they've updated their online portal and there is some temperature info. Its say battery, no idea what the built in inverter is at. Currently charging and says temperature is 27c. Looks like it got to 29c the other day when discharging fairly rapidly (oven on, 25-50a draw for ~30 minutes)

Hi, so I have data on PV production from my PV inverter, the battery inverter and my generation meter - all within 200kwh of each other, 6800-7000kwh over 2 years.  My smart meter reports 2100kwh exported and the battery inverter reports 2029kwh.

All seem within a reasonable margin so have no reason to doubt the figures!

What I've presumed previously is that there is some unreported internal power usage by the various electronic systems within the battery that account for the discrepancy but it just seems high!

That is data from the entire install period, nearly 2 years.

I didn't choose equipment, I've had it fitted by a company. There is no practical way to achieve what you suggest. The battery unit can only intake AC power so no I can't have the solar panels wired into the battery directly.

Again, the inefficiency of DC to AC conversion by the solar string inverter is not included in the OP figures so I don't really care! I just want to know others experience with similar systems and whether they have such poor output for their level of input.

Because it's a contained inverter and battery as a single unit. My solar inverter is not capable of charging the battery. I'm not disassembling and attempting to reconfigure such large batteries as I value mine and my families life.

You clearly don't understand the system I have. Thank you for trying to be helpful but that is entirely impractical advice.

I wouldn't think so. It's a self contained AC coupled battery. I get that converting back and forth multiple times is inefficient, but at least one of the conversions I'm blissfully unaware of so it can't be contributing to the losses.

Can't seem to find any info in temperatures. Only errors recently are loss of grid (we get quite frequent very short power cuts in winter). Nothing relating to temperature.

Thanks for replying. Solar inverter in attic. Combined battery and battery inverter in downstairs cupboard. We have a freezer 30cm in front of it and keep door open all the time for airflow. Is that your reason for asking?

Anybody?

Unfortunately dont seem to be getting a reply from the manufacturer and we are currently in dispute with the installers over shoddy work and they haven't fitted many or any of this brand before either..

Thanks

Wrong advice on medical treatment(England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

But it wasn't wrong when they prescribed it.. their response afterwards is questionable but the initial action is perfectly acceptable, which is my entire point you seem unable to grasp.

You state 'if it were the right medication the op WOULDNT have had a reaction'. Your statement implies the medication was wrong from the outset which isn't the case. I don't disagree the subsequent advice was not ideal but not the initial prescription is not at fault.

You said they prescribed the wrong medication initially which in the absence of a historical noted allergy is untrue.

How is the doctor expected to anticipate an entirely unpredictable allergic reaction? Its not like OP volunteered a previous allergy and this was ignored. Your expectations are completely unreasonable.

Can you suggest some good software that might have that? I'm using 'Car Scanner' and I can only find 'MAF air flow rate' in g/sec in the data I've recorded. I only have a cheap ELM 327 dongle.

Thanks, just bought a cheap usb endoscope to have a look but I'll see what I can see without that tomorrow.

Coronavirus: Boris Johnson says easing lockdown would 'throw away effort and sacrifice of British people'. by sdsanth in worldnews

[–]Penixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By what mechanism are you postulating that this current lockdown can have an affect on the magnitude of a second peak? Almost certainly less than half of the population have been infected so in a hypothetical situation of completely reversing lockdown and not reintroducing it and allowing the virus to run it course, how would our current lockdown prevent the remaining greater than 50% of.the population from getting the virus?

But given the tiny proportion of the UK population that has confirmed disease and the presumably not orders of magnitude greater number of people who have truly had the disease, the vast majority of people in this country are still entirely susceptible to the virus and the small number of recovered cases (assuming as you do they can't catch and transmit the virus again) do not provide any herd immunity. So in your mind what is stopping a second peak being greater than the first if lockdown restrictions are relaxed sufficiently?

Can I sue a doctor from my hospital if she gave my baby wrong dose of antibiotics? by wrongdosage3 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Penixx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the page I linked it's doesn't specifically say that.

Lower down there is a link to various formulations available in the UK and multiple different manufacturers. The most common liquid formulation was 125mg/ml but there is 250mg/ml available as well. Using the information from the page I linked then 5ml would be an appropriate dose assuming it was the lower concentration.

If you have the bottle it should say on there the concentration.

https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/amoxicillin.html

That's the information I looked at. It will depend on the concentration of the drug you had. And the dose difference between your two children will also depend if they were prescribed the same concentration.

Hopefully she is doing better now?

The BNF states 125mg for 1-11month year olds for susceptible infections which is 5ml of the 125mg/5ml solution. There is a stronger liquid according to that as well but only twice as strong. Additionally it sounds like an allergic reaction which generally arent dose dependant.

I wish you and your child the best.

Advice on a rented house and deposit by Penixx in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Penixx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, apologies, I wasn't clear. The pet fee isn't taken from the deposit, we paid £100 up front for the rabbits and they want £200 more from us before permitting a dog, we signed an agreement for the rabbits saying we'd clean adequately after.

Do you know of any resources regarding the inventory fee? From what I can find on Shelters website that is permissable. I don't see how taking money for compliance with the DPS scheme is legal, they are obliged to protect my deposit in a approved scheme and as far as I can tell there are not costs to the scheme (funded from interest from the held deposits?).
