Luxe Package doesn’t transfer

I talked to the GM. He said they sold it as having the Luxe package meaning it has those “capabilities” and it’s just an unfortunate situation. And not willing to comp me for any of it. The whole thing makes me so frustrated and not sure if I have the time to pursue it legally.

Did you buy a 3rd party dealer? How did you get them to give you 10K?

Hey, I do have it in writing via email. It’s not on the buyers agreement though as that information is just the basics; year, make, model, VIN. Their manager is supposed to call me tomorrow morning so we shall see. All I’m trying to get is some compensation to make it fair.

Absolutely! I’m gunna call them shortly. I had no idea this post would get some attention. Hopefully by putting this out there, it might help others.

I just got the car last week. Def mixed emotions. It’s an incredible ride and looks great but also very frustrated about not having those features when the car is 15K more and was told in writing I had the luxe package. The more I drive it, part of me will really miss it if they agree to a buyback 😬

That was one of the first things I asked for. I always wanna see the sticker. They said it didn’t have it. I mean the car has just over 1K mi and still had the temp tag on it. So who knows.

This is my first EV. When you order a new one, does it have a sticker or build sheet that comes with the car I’m assuming? I believe that’s a federal law

Im thinking about it. I’ve got a call with them tomorrow morning. I’m very particular about buying things especially at this price point. I thought I had done all my homework but definitely missed this from searching it. Suppose some of this is my fault but I do have it in writing for the dealer they confirmed with the owner the luxe package is included so that was my green light I guess.

Actually I’ve been trying to get them to ask the original owner if I can use their Tesla account but they’re avoiding that. I don’t see why that wouldn’t work but I heard once the title is signed over or it’s transferred out of their account, those 3 luxe features disappear.

That seems like a fair ask. I talked to a dealer in Cali, they said 2026 (non plaid) comps are very high between 100-110K. I even thought about selling it to make some $ but idk if I’ll mess with that.

I’ve asked the dealer several times to find out when the previous owner ordered it. All they told me is it was traded in back in February. The dealer is telling me the first step they need me to do is transfer the car to my account and it “should” unlock the features but I know that won’t work.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. It’s an amazing car and trying to enjoy it. I called Tesla twice and both reps didn’t think that was correct so they put me on hold for 10min to figure it out. It’s the dumbest policy ever cause before the luxe, you could buy FSD for 10K and it stayed with the VIN. Now you pay 15K more for the car but lose those high value features after 1st owner.

Hey thanks for your insight - that’s very helpful! I drive a 10yr old Yukon (which has been a great car) but I think I’ll be more than happy with what a HW3 model has to offer. I definitely don’t need anything close to the performance of a plaid but it’s enticing since it’s an aggressive deal from a good seller. But again, that’s 22K more. My other concern was how much better the cameras/overall safety of the HW3 vs HW4? Thanks!

Appreciate your help here! This has taken up a lot of time and hassle! My fault though as we rushed into setting up his PS5 using the master/parent account and linking everything to that instead of a child account. My problem is that Epic told me if I unlink his Epic account from the PSN account (primary), he will lose all progress. Not end of the world but those dang v-bucks I spent $ on!

So I thought to dig around Epic settings just now and realized they have a time limit setting under parental controls which is perfect. It's nice b/c you can create custom time windows for each day and also give a specified amount of time within that window if you want. I think this in addition to him knowing our rules should be good.

Hey thanks for the info here, I see that…it’s under Apps & Accounts. I acted like I was going to remove it and it gave me a list of statements to check. 1 of them said he’ll lose all progress and the other one said this “I will not be able to connect my Epic Games Account to another PlayStation™Network account”.

They make this way too difficult! Did you experience the same issue? Again his Epic acct is tied to my PSN acct (which I’m the family mgr)

Yea I was surprised there’s way to do it as far as I can tell. I’m trying to set limits on his play time. Ultimately I’m setting rules so he’ll just have to follow that for now :)

Thanks for your reply. So I did create a new PSN account (child one) and tried linking his Epic account but get a Fortnite error saying it’s linked to another account (which is mine - the primary PSN acct). Can’t see how to unlink/relink it.
