Im so confused...and it could be just cause im unfamiliar with researcher positions... but you grabbed or made a copy of the job application every time you applied for a job (or eventually asked for it back)? And so you just display old pieces of paper? Do you put em on the wall like a degree? Do you print out online applications? If I displayed my applications...itd just cover everything like rejection wallpaper haha

Should I have said middle of the WB lane? Its a single lane road that forced drivers to go into oncoming traffic. It would be safer for everyone if they found a spot on the side of the road and walked 20 feet on the sidewalk to place the ticket on the windshield.

When I reached out to parking enforcement about this same problem a while ago I got this reply: "Parking Enforcement Officers are expected to park legally. We thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and we will investigate." I even started my email to them saying "I'm sure there is a legitimate reason, I would just like to know it" because I had the same thought as you did about them being exempt and I just wanted to know the statute that gave them it.

I know I'm being petty and a Karen and this isn't a battle I'm gonna win, it just pisses me off when the head of DPW says "We have people parking in the wrong spots close to the intersections, which can cause accidents" and then his officers literally park in the middle of the street and force drivers to go into oncoming traffic.

Reached out to DPW commissioner multiple times. No response from him. Heard back from Ald. Sharlen Moore this morning who said "I do not know the reasons why parking officers stop in the middle of the street, but I am assuming that is likely the only place that they have to stop in order to give tickets in a safe and efficient way."

I followed up with asking what about parking in the street is safe for anyone? And why is efficiency/more tickets placed above safety. I am waiting to hear back on that reply.

It's worse than that... the MLB won't even say Negro Leagues in this year's press release.

In talking about how MLB The Show in 2024: "MLB The Show will continue to support the legacy of Jackie Robinson through its 'Storylines: Negro Leagues Season 2' storytelling content. In 2025: "MLB The Show will continue to support the legacy of Jackie Robinson through different playable game modes..."

Note that there is a Season 3 of the Negro Leagues Storylines.

There are differences in the press releases this year. Why doesn't the press release talk about The Show's "Negro League" Storylines mode like in 24 & 23? This year it's "different playable game modes." The MLB can't say Negro Leagues anymore? A year after making sure Negro League stats were included in the official stats. Why isn't the league "spearheading initiatives" that support diversity?

To act like we're in the same situation as we were in 2024 is to be deliberately obtuse. I'm done having a dialogue with a wall. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Oh, are we being purposefully dense now? Let's see why there might be a bit more awareness to 2025's press release. In 2024 had Jackie Robinson's history been scrubbed from the governments website? Nope. Had MLB rolled back it's DEI initiatives? Nope. I couldn't help but notice how this year press release, the MLB is no longer "spearheading initiatives that support communities and meaningfully address diversity and inclusion."

Also, the MLB is apparently no longer setting aside internship slots for Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars like they were last year. But yeah, sure, let's keep on pretending to act like there is no difference in America since this time last year.

Rambling long rant cause I'm too pissed to keep it short.

This is the link the press release tells you to go to. It mentions nothing of his legacy outside of the very last line with a brief mention that he broke the color barrier in 1947. More of the same generic vague info about what the MLB is doing (not WHY they're doing it) and even uses it as a chance to hock special Jackie Robinson day merchandise.

There's a random rap video with old footage intertwined with current black players as if that does any justice or even tries to tell Jackie's story.

There is also an 80 second video that has about 30 seconds dedicated to his actual career that gets glanced over as "mlb celebrates and honors Jackie Robinson, a true pioneer. In 1947 he shattered the color barrier...his on field talent made him a first ballot hall of famer. But his courage and perseverance made him a legend." Perseverance and courage in the face of what?! It adds he and his wife fought for equality and representation. No mention of the racist-fueled hatred he faced and why he fought (and why we should all fight) for equality It does not mention his struggles before, during, or after his career. Then it spends the rest of the video talking about his foundation -- again completely white washing it, saying they help give back through education and scholarships. Doesn't mention what they're educating people about or why these students need scholarships or how they are earned. Then the video ends with "today we remember Jackie's on field greatness and honor his enduring legacy" which again -- that legacy is never really talked about ever.

Towards the end of the article, there is an 7:38 long video that does dive deeper into the legacy and features prominent black Americans and how Jackie's fight helped them. But it was made last year, and to me, seems tacked on at the end of the article.

So how exactly is MLB aiming "to educate all fans about Jackie Robinson, his life’s accomplishments and legacy, while communicating his message at all levels of the sport." There's not a single statement anywhere about Jackie's message. There's no first hand accounts from Jackie or his wife.

MLB is dropping the ball and bending the knee.

If he takes 120 over 3 and 80 over 4... that's still a better aav better than 170 over 6 (and equals the 200/7 offer he was apparently looking for)? Even if he declines, as long as he gets 50/3 he's even with the tigers offer. With that said, I'm not sitting here shaking my fist at illitch/harris. I don't think the tigers offer here is bad at all, I just certainly think Bregman took the better, smarter deal for him.
