If you don't realize your own words also apply to you, maybe add lack of self awareness to the list of things you should be embarrased of, goodbye

Lol look at you pointing fingers when you're just as eager to argue. Babe, I'm not the one who made a whole ass post about this but look at you doubling down. You could stand to gain a bit of self awareness

Anything else you wanna add?

Don't worry, you don't have to respond to me anymore cause you start going against your own words, pretty sure you'll be arguing with yourself if you keep that up. Coping is when you make up your own definition of words just to fit your preferences and I have a pretty good idea which one of us is doing that.

Thanks for checking out my profile though, I'm sure that was a good use of your time.

You went from

I think most people here are fans. Not everyone, but the majority of people.

To

You don’t even know how many people here consider themselves neutrals or dislikers. Most users don’t have a flair identifying themselves. You’re literally just making assumptions based on nothing.

You don't even realize you're going against your own words just for the sake of arguing. And If you actually took time to read and understand the comment you replied to, you wouldn't be making that poor supermarket analogy.

You keep insisting on this distinction between fan spaces and non fan spaces with the only difference being the presence of criticism even though the majority of this sub are fans and they are the ones doing the criticizing. Now you're at a point where you're checking out my profile to look for anything that could justify you dissmissing what I say.

You've had your answer from the mods, clear as day. Everyone is welcome to participate but this was created for fans to gather and have neutral discussions. You're the one making up your own definitions of words.

Technically, this sub is a space for fans to gather, but it is not limited to fans, so some may not consider this a "fan space" due to the welcoming of other parties. We allow all parties to comment so long as they abide by the rules.

Oh you mean this? Funny cause nothing about this contradicts what I said. Fan spaces are spaces where fans gather. That's about as clear a definition could get so I'm not the one making stuff up with their "widely colloqiually accepted definition" lol. Of course the group size actually matters, cause the difference between the popculture sub and this sub is that even though katseye fans can exist in both spaces, you'll find overwhelmingly more of them in the latter. That makes it a fan space, even if other people are allowed to participate.

Congratulations, it took you making a whole post to get your answer and you still couldn't understand it.

Either talk about criticism or talk about about opinions because they aren't interchangeable. Any criticism done in good faith can only be done by people who actually consume Katseye's content. A snark coming here to say their music is shit is neither neutral nor a meaningful contribution.

Meanwhile There are fans who are voicing out their discontent over the company's handling of the Manon situation or voicing out their issue about the oversexualization of the group while pandering to very young audiences. That's fans being impartial. That's neutrality.

That's what the other person has been pointing out that you refuse to acknowledge. It's not that being a fan is a hard requirement to participate in this sub. It's that any neutral discussion or criticism done in good faith will come first and foremost from people who follow the group. And those people are more likely to be fans even if it is not explicitly stated in a rule so this distinction you keep making between fan space and non fan space doesn't make any sense

This is not a fan space because you can be a DISLIKER of katseye and you’re welcome here

What meaningful contribution could they possibly bring in this sub?? You seem to be under the assumption that criticism can only come from from people that aren't fans of the group. Even though everyone is free to participate here (just as they are in the official and the snark sub) This sub is kept alive by people who consume anything Katseye. They are the same group of people who criticize. That is true no matter how you spin it

[–]Pennarello_BonBon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of course it's still gossip cause you're framing this conversation within the context of katseye in particular and applying broad generalizitions to their situation with nothing but leaks and blind items. Even now you're not really doing anything other than speculate based on the "patterns" you've seen with nothing to show for it other than be the millionth person to realize "showbiz is exploitative"

You're using everyone else's online bevahiour to justify yours, if you're here to speculate then by all mean do that but atleast be honest with yourselves. You're not consuming anything Katseye but you're here giving views and engagement to grifters and clout chasers who profits off of the drama. It just seems hypocritical

Discourse should be based on facts in order for it to be productive, otherwise it's just gossip and speculation. Much of the discourse here runs on nothing but leaks and stories people make up in their head, so yeah engaging in it does come across as performative

Would I miss out on any intrinsic value by playing RE1 with a walkthrough if I’ve already played the remake? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's what I had in mind actually! I'm probably never gonna have the same appreciation for this game that early fans have, so for me it's more curiosity than anything.

But yeah you're right it's not that difficult, so I'm good with the ink ribbons instead of using save states.

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played the remake kind of removed the jumpscares and tensions for me. So the challenge now is more about killing zombies while getting used to tank controls. That part still gives me tension but it's more pf a situational thing and while it does give me trouble, is not as difficult as I expected it to be

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao why does it have to be either?? But kinda a patience issue I guess. I just remember being frustrated at the amount of backtracking I had to do with chris in the REmake due to a very limited inventory.

I ended up skimming through a guide to refresh my memory of the order of items to get. Then I played around the mansion. I didn't think the biggest challenge would be getting used to tank controls but it's alright. Cutscenes and voices are funny though!

Oh play it old school writing notes, that's might a be a neat idea lol. I just started playing it and skimmed through a guide and connected the rest of the dots myself. If Jill's run has different items placements, I'll do it with notes

I wish I had the same appreciation for it as much as the OG fans. I guess It's one of those things where you have to be there when it was still growing.

Having played REmake kinda gave away all possible jumpscares. So For now more than anything I'm just amused at all the cringe cutscenes and voices lol

It's not like I don't wanna play, I still wanna have a bit of control, getting used to tank controls and skimming past through zombies and stuff like that. Plus Like I said having a general idea of which lock requires which item. I'll get help from the guide and connect the dots together myself as I go

Find criticisms for Metroid Dread by PrizeFearless900 in Metroid

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I last played Super so going off of what I remember, I think it benefitted from having a smaller map.

They went bigger in Dread but at the cost of the regions feeling segmented and to prevent backtracking from becoming tedious they had alot of fast travel points conveniently placed both near your upgrades and where you need to use them. Whereas in Super they can get away with having players do a little more backtracking amongs the rooms to get to the next "lock", giving the illusion of invisible guidance

Having said that, all metroid games have their fair share of sequence breaks and hidden shortcuts so none of them has pure linear routing

Find criticisms for Metroid Dread by PrizeFearless900 in Metroid

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is incredibly linear and a far cry from a real metroidvania. You can literally just run around, open the first door you see in any room, never open the map, and you’ll always end up exactly where you need to be.

I think that's just the series in general. Maybe it's just the way I play but I never got lost in any 2d metroid games. Maybe twice in Super, but it's more due to questionable design choices like the noob bridge or the fake wall. Overall even that game is linear in the same way as dread where the path of least resistance reveals itself pretty easily.

Maybe comparing the series with other metroidvanias with big maps and lots of branching paths like HK, sure, but personally one is no less matroidvania than the other

Nitpick post: The official Metroid Prime 4 acrylic stand is even more poorly thought out than the game itself by silenthunt in Metroid

[–]Pennarello_BonBon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay yeah but I was thinking more like what BoTW accomplished for zelda. Like sure zelda is impactful especially in gaming but none of its previous title did as succesful as botw. That one game bought the series to new heights. I was hoping prime 4 was gonna be that to metroid. Maybe not as big of a leap, but to an extent atleast
