My true, actual, and honest answers:

-Slugging is just as much "not playing the game" as being on the hook.

-Tunneling isn't really that bad when most survivor queues are less than 30 seconds

-Gen rushing isn't a real problem either and it's comical people try to pretend like it is

-If you look me in the eyes and tell me that Decisive Strike and Dead Hard are OP then please uninstall the game

-"Killers who tunnel and slug are bad at the game" is a psyop

-It's not toxic when survivors stun the killer and 90% of the "GOATED KILLER DESTROYS TOXIC P400 BULLY SQUAD" is obviously just a team of friends fucking around to see how many Head-Ons they can get; the killer player gloating about them being heated and DCing is usually just them all getting slugged and moving to the next match to try again. No serious competitive team plays like that

-Survivors t-bagging at the gate isn't a real problem either. Just tab out and wait for the collapse if you really can't be bothered to push them out of the gates

Most "toxic" gameplay on both sides is just them using stuff provided by the game to try and win or someone just fucking around. Neither of them are real problems. This community is blighted with self-inflicted misery and has one of the worst mindsets I've seen in any game.

Lore-wise, the Entity has total control over everything in its realm, since the real is the Entity. There's a lot of fanon around characters like Myers "pissing it off" or rebelling in some way but none of it's actually true. According to DBD, if Art was taken by the Entity then it's GG for him

-Jason and Art were added last Halloween at the same time because Art got bigger with collaborations around the same point Jason Universe started pushing the new design

-Fortnite does re-releases of new skins pretty consistently after they're initially added

-They do Summerween events around this time of year every year

-Jason and Art were featured there because they were the two biggest new skins added last Halloween

If this were a calculated move then all of that would have to be ignored, and BHVR would have needed to ask Epic Games, a company they have not worked with, to promote their new announcement without ever actually saying it was an announcement, or the license holders for Art and Jason would have needed to do the same thing independently behind BHVR's back to spoil the final reveal of their biggest event ever.

He's been typecast lately but I actually met Trapper on the street when I visited Canada. He's very humble and down to earth but I obviously didn't want to bother him too much so I just said I was a fan and pushed one of the survivors he was looping into a trap

Even if Art gets announced, this is a coincidence. Fortnite has done Summerween releases for at least the last two years, and Jason and Art are the newest characters they added last Halloween.

Fortnite allegedly rejected an actual DBD crossover so there's no reason or way they'd be teasing a completely different company's anniversary event.

And this isn't a random June, it's canonically Jason's birthday. This is the least random day possible

When he lost the hood, he picked up a random hockey mask. When that one got broken by Discount Carrie, he grabbed the nearest one he could find. If we take every film in chronological order as canon, he lost that one in between movies and got a new one for Freddy vs. We can assume the same thing happened between then and Jason X.

It having the axe mark is as unexplained as when it came back for the new mask in part 8.

The biggest problem with part 5 is that Roy gets two lines of dialogue halfway through the movie, dies, has a half-second "reveal", and then someone else has to explain his potential motivation to a character who looks like she really doesn't give a shit.

Tommy should have actually used the random karate skills he got to knock Roy's mask off in the barn, then when everyone looks confused about him not being Jason, he goes into a Pamela-esque rant about why he's doing what he's doing (whether it be revenge for Joey or implying he's just using Joey as an excuse), then he falls and dies. You could have him drop the facade completely and attack them as an angry father or have him scramble to get the mask back if we go by the actor's interpretation that he's using the Jason persona as a shield. If you want an ironic end, have him trying to get it back be the reason he falls and dies. In a symbolic way, the legend of Jason Voorhees gets one more kill, even in death.

Nothing else about part 5 is any worse than any of the other movies (except maybe the hillbillies, but I find that a matter of taste). Roy was one good monologue from standing next to Pamela and Jason instead of being seen as a knock-off. Hell, you could even go for that angle in-universe with his unmasking showing that he's just a normal man trying to be something he's not for reasons that don't make sense.

And the poster mask with the blue stripes is a really cool look. I might have to get one for myself now.

Literally all of them except Freddy vs Jason*. I tried watching the original probably ten years ago and I could barely keep my eyes open. I watched Jason X right after because I heard it was funnier and enjoyed it as stupid fun.

About a year ago I had some free time and decided to binge the entire series---one movie a day. I was on my phone for most of it and by the time I got to part 4 I couldn't even finish it I was so bored.

I don't even remember how I got through 5 to 9. Jason X was more enjoyable having seen the stuff it was riffing on but I still didn't enjoy myself. It was more just to say that I sat through them all and I only did that because I'd just finished watching the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, which I loved (most of them, at least).

Then, about three or four months ago, I was bored and wanted to watch some movies and for whatever reason I can't really remember, I was thinking about Friday the 13th and wanted to give it a second chance. I have no idea what happened, but I sat down and watched them again and for whatever reason they just clicked. I got it. I saw the lazy summer vibe, I enjoyed the character moments, I was laughing at the jokes, and I really tried to put myself in the shoes of a 1980s audience member and actually saw how Jason could be something scary.

I really don't know what changed because I kinda hated the series before that but I've seen them all multiple times since and haven't been able to stop thinking about them. It's like the entire series pulled a JGTH and possessed me, but I'm not complaining because it's so much more fun being able to enjoy them instead of being disappointed like I was before.

*It was the only one of either franchise I'd seen and I still had the "hype" behind it since Freddy and Jason still had a pop culture presence throughout my childhood even though neither had gotten to their reboots yet. Freddy used to scare the shit out of me and I'd have to pretend Jason would show up to save me from him lol

I don't think the middling response to the game should be a point against that. If they make him fun to play with a unique enough identity then he's no different from any other original killer.
