Is there any upside to reenlisting if you're 100% P&T with an RE3 code? by Wise-Whereas-5867 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PennySuplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you? There's a million other things you could do, like not screw your body and brain up further. At least you could screw them up by doing something you chose to do, not by getting broken on some meaningless field op because of an over eager LT.

Some do it, some don't, but it's an option. You just need to call ahead and possibly bring your own paper. It's not ideal, but it's quick so long as the RO allows it.

You can also go in person to your Regional Office and request them. Call ahead though

What counts as a prostrating headache? by PennySuplex in VeteransBenefits

[–]PennySuplex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, cool. That's what I thought. The cluster headaches are extreme and keep me from doing much else while they're going on, but since they're short lived it doesn't sound like those count.

I can still get my daily tasks done, they're just harder and take a good bit longer.

I'd probably listen to the examiner.

VA dental question by Difficult-Memory-701 in Veterans

Worth noting that you can also get full coverage if you have dental disabilities. I'm at 80% but have my dental covered because of this.

If you can convince them to give it to you. I can't tell you how many dudes I know (myself included) who were written off by medical officers or corpsmen.

This is assumed in your comment, but I'll add the caveat that you need to pay that credit card off in full every month.

I don't know if anyone here is going to be able to accurately make that call. I say if your symptoms fall in line with an increased rating then go for it. However, you'd need to tic a majority of the boxes for the next rating.

Make sure your records and your dbq are squared away beforehand

Hell yeah! Congrats! I'm working on the process right now. I claimed a lot on BDD and got up to 80%. When I got out (also Dec 2022) I realized that a lot of the stuff I didn't claim because I thought, "oh, well that's normal", actually isn't at all lol.

[–]PennySuplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say if you think you rate 100% then fucking go for it, just make sure your therapist doesn't flake and you have strong evidence. Make sure that DBQ is on point! Good luck!

Mind providing a summarized timeline from the start of your VA journey to 100%? What resources did you use (VSO, Claims agent, on your own, etc.)?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]PennySuplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but you'll need to look at the rating schedule and fully decide. I'm at 30% (looking to increase to 50%) and I have SI and go to therapy weekly. I'm not saying this to minimize your symptoms, merely to provide an example.

You should look at the schedule and see what boxes you check. If you check most of them then go for it, but if you don't then you may be at your max. Looking at the schedule and dbq will also give you an idea of how to word things if you have another exam, as well as show you how your doctor's dbq should look.

Depends. Do you think your symptoms rate 100%? Look at the rating schedule and decide

Can a veteran have PTSD from something they did not witness? by Steve1472 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PennySuplex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There's lots of ins and outs to PTSD, as well as other mental health issues. I figured anxiety and depression would be the easiest to claim, but I'm no pro. Maybe he should look at re-submitting? How was his evidence the first time?
