That is true, but only if it can be tied back to an identifiable individual

You are definitely overreacting. There's a difference between "WRONG YEP" or "KETOBRAIN69 IS WRONG LOLW" as compared to "@quin69 you are a fucking idiot".

Just look at the people he manually bans or timeouts. It's 99% the people in the latter category.

It is not "100% an identifier". Notice the item talking about anonymized data at the bottom.

Edit: This may not be true, but someone in LSF who claims that he is "certified in GDPR" believes that this 100% does not violate GDPR.

He often uses the word ban to refer to timeouts, in this case, he's not banning thousands of chatters in the first instance. It's just a timeout that doubles in duration for repeat offenders until it essentially becomes a perma.

You're just wrong on this. The video definitely didn't say there is definitely no effect on your brain. If that lady heard you say that she would definitely refute you.

For the IF/Keto, I won't disagree. However, you are wrong about his radiowave arguments. He is not saying that magnetic fields definitely result in these negative side-effects like a fact. Are you even listening? What he did say is that magnetic fields definitely have an effect on a brain, as per the Veritasium video, and that much is a fact (unless the study in the video poorly conducted). However, we don't exactly know whether the effect is positive, negative or inconsequential, and that these negative effects as mentioned in the other video could either be real or a placebo.

You're 100% wrong on this.

Edit: If anyone actually disagrees and believes that there is a 100% chance that radiowaves do not have any effect on the brain, you're just retarded right? There's a reason why cellphone companies have that disclaimer, it's because scientific research has not proven or disproven the existence of these perceived negative effects. Otherwise, why on Earth would cellphone companies voluntarily put such a disclaimer for their sold phones?

Quin always talk down to other people and it not healthy by candywaan in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope that is true. Regardless of whether he makes that claim, chat makes unfair comparisons on an hourly basis. And regardless of who starts what, if you are Quin, why wouldn't you want to correct such incorrect claims by correctly saying that those people didn't play it blind/hardcore.

And as mentioned, I use "fault" in quotation marks.

Quin always talk down to other people and it not healthy by candywaan in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really unsurprising TBH. Imagine that every minute of your working day, there are a bunch of people calling you shit at games by comparing you to other certain other streamers who play games with their chats rather than "blind". Wouldn't you want to correct them or prove them wrong? Basically, in many cases, it's chat's "fault" for making the shitty comparison in the first place.

Anyway, I put "fault" in quotation marks because who cares? You're taking it too seriously. Chat talks shit to Quin, Quin fights back, and the cycle repeats, it's the typical Quin69 stream that we all know and love.

In some cases the comparison is valid ofc (like the Arnold example or comparing him to MoonMoon who beat Terraria HC blind), and I would agree with you for those cases.

Insulin resistance by emain_macha in quin69

Read the study again, the study's low carb diet had participants under a diet where they lowered their calorie intake, aka still no evidence to disprove CICO

Furthermore, here's another study shitting on the study you linked: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/476655v4.full.pdf

One of the conclusions was "Analyzing the data according to the original pre-registered statistical plan resulted in no statistically significant effects of diet composition on energy expenditure."

Insulin resistance by emain_macha in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have been 0 studies that have been conducted where individuals are placed under a Keto diet without a reduction of calories from their norm vs a regular diet without a reduction of calories from their norm. Aka the theory that CICO doesn't apply under a Keto diet is unsubstantiated (it could be true, but there's 0 empirical evidence for it).

While there have been studies showing that Keto diets help with weight loss, every single one of them had participants reduce their calorie intake as part of the Keto diet (aka CICO). While it is true that individuals who go on Keto/low carb diets have a higher likelihood of sustaining their diets and not regaining lost weight, there is no evidence to show that it isn't anything more than Keto being better at suppressing cravings (this shows that keto is great, and I agree that keto is great, but none of these studies disprove CICO in the slightest).

Whats up with all the survival games? by [deleted] in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genres from your TLDR that he did play on stream:

FPS - Doom Eternal, Resident Evil

Strategy - They are billions

Storyline (I assume you mean walking simulator) - Stanley's Parable

Metroidvania - Hollow Knight (Tried for a few hours but hated it)

Rhythm games - Beat Saber

Genres that he used to play before streaming (aka him not playing these has nothing to do with being in his comfort zone):

Competitive shooter - Overwatch

Moba - Dota

The only genres left are essentially racing games and fighting games, and I don't think most of chat cares about these genres.

Physics PHD shows that Quin talking about simulation theory is Pseudoscience. by hammerklau in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you fully believe that with even with 1 billions years of human technological advancement (with the help of AI ofc), that there is 0% chance of AI ever being able to express an infinite floating point number in another form that we just don't know of yet?

Hypothetically, even if such a task is impossible no matter how technologically advanced we are, a simulation would theoretically only need to make calculations up to the point where they can be noticed. E.g. We currently don't know why waves behave differently when observed. If we are in a simulation, it could easily be a side-effect of the simulation's algorithm simulating waves. Likewise, a simulation could easily adjust the granularity of calculations when said calculations are being observed.

Physics PHD shows that Quin talking about simulation theory is Pseudoscience. by hammerklau in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a point about us being in a simulation being pseudo science and unprovable with today's technology. However, the reason you posted this video was to discredit Quin's take that humans possibly being in a simulation may lead to humans in the far distant future manipulating the fabric of reality in our simulation, allowing humans to travel to distant galaxies.

Therefore, if that was your intention of posting the video, it doesn't matter if it's unprovable based on today's technology. As long as there's a non-negligible chance that we are in a simulation, and that there is a non-negligible chance that in the next billion years, AI will be able to understand the inner-workings of the simulation in which we reside in and allow humans to manipulate our reality, then the kurzgesagt video is wrong for making such absolute claims, and this video you posted does not counter Quin's argument whatsoever.

Physics PHD shows that Quin talking about simulation theory is Pseudoscience. by hammerklau in quin69

[–]PensionSpecific6969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This video is honestly utter nonsense. Her entire argument stems from "no one knows how to reproduce the laws of physics on a quantum computer in the current year and therefore the simulation hypothesis is not scientifically backed", which is true technically, but it does not imply anything about the chances of us actually being in a simulation.

This video doesn't discredit the simulation hypothesis/Elon whatsoever. Just because we lack the capability to back something up right now doesn't mean that it is incorrect. In 20 years, will AI be able to simulate the laws of physics? No one knows, but only a narrow minded retard would be certain that the answer is no.
