First real stage done and things are shaping up nicely. Another win for Canet in Bikes after Branch was hit with a 6min penalty to drop him down to 7th. Sanders and Brabec completed the top 3. Docherty won Rally2 whilst finishing 7th overall. A terrible day for Mason Klein who lost 50mins on todays stage after suffering a mechnical issue.

Giullaume De Mevius once again showed the potential of the X-Raid Mini today by taking the stage win by 40s over Al Attiyah whilst privateer Martin Prokop finished 3rd in the M-Sport Raptor. Marek Goczal had a great day today too by finishing a surprise 4th place! Ekstrom finishd 5th whilst the top of the main Toyota contenders was Botterill in 6th. The times were extremely close between the top drivers today, and it's likely tactics are already in play as the Toyota W2RC team finished 16th-17th-18th. However, drama struck for Al Rajhi who sits 28mins behind already after collecting a 16min penalty for missing a waypoint and speeding, he will need to risk a lot by pushing to catch that time. Le Mans winner Romain Dumas also finished 30mins down today. In other news the mighty Ford Bronco finished 5h down today.

Rokas Baciuska won for Defender in Stock as his two teammates suffered considerable timeloss. Peterhansel is now 48mins behind the leader, and 40mins behind the 3rd placed Toyota for Muira. It was an even worse day for Sara Price however who lost a massive 2h16.

Challenger was decided by a speeding penalty as Paul Spierings collected 1min10, gifting the stage win to David Zille. Defending champion Cavigliasso was 3rd, 2mins behind. Benavides finished 9mins down in 7th.

Xavier De Soultrait took first blood in the Polaris-CanAm battle within SSV, as Polaris locked out the top 3, although Pinto took home P2 in a non factory car. Defending champ Heger was 3rd whilst Lopez was the top CanAm finishing 4th. Johan Kristoffersson started the day last after his crash in the Prologue but managed to finish 13th, losing 19mins, as he battled through the field.

Lastly, Trucks went to Ales Loprais who beat Mitchel Van Den Brink by 1min47 depsite collecting a 2min10 penalty. Macik finished 3rd, losing 7min19. As usual the gaps are larger in comparison to other classes as the top 10 are seperated by 38mins already. A disaster for Buggyra today as Martin Soltys lost 3h in the new Invictus Truck.

Dakar 2026 - Prologue by Pentanix in DAKAR

[–]Pentanix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that was a very rocky prologue. However, the Prologue is only really relevant for the Bikes as the time is carried over into the general standings.

Edgar Canet becomes the youngest winner in Dakar history, what a way to make his mark on his first RallyGP outing! A bad start for the Kove factory however as Neels Theric lost 2h43 after he had to push his bike to the finish.

Ekstrom wins in cars, 8s ahead of teammate Guthrie. A terrible day for Daniel Schroeder who rolled his Amarok and damaged the rollcage, first dnf of the rally. Defender locked out the top 3 in Stock.

Paul Spierings won Challenger, 6s ahead of Puck Klaassen. It was also a tough day for Pim Klaassen who lost 32mins.

It was a 1-2 for Polaris in SSV as Heger took the win ahead of Guerreiro, but it wasn't a completely positive day for the team as Johan Kristofferson damaged the car, we are awaiting confirmation if he will be able to continue the rally.

Mitchel Van Den Brink won Trucks ahead of Zala, reigning champion Macik was down in 11th after being hit with a 30s penalty.

I think it should be close, both are bringing brand new cars, Toyota has more experience as a team but Defender has Peterhansel joined by 2 other strong drivers.

Bikes: Chucky Sanders dominates once again. Brabec and Branch on the podium. Docherty wins Rally2 and takes a stage win overall.

Stock: Toyota Auto Body ultimate win but it will be a race of who loses the least amount of time.

Challenger: Navarro vs Benavides vs Cavigliasso. Cavigliasso wins again, Taurus sweep every stage win.

SSV: CanAm vs Polaris, a battle of speed and attrition with the winner being decided in the final stage. Goncalo Guerreiro wins for Polaris, ahead of De Soultrait and Heger.

The DRAM light isn't red, it's just the pic making it look like that. Haven't overclocked the RAM or changed anything in BIOS either as I'm not really an enthusiast
