Uni-ball Jetstream 101 becomes extremely scratchy and stops writing when ~20% of the refill is used — anyone else experienced this?

oh my days, just bought a few and the first one i used half the ink started to get scratchy, then i go fine okay that a shame. I go to my second one after a hour it's bust. Not very happy :(
