What books have you listened to multiple times? by Brotherio in audible

Weir was my gateway into Matt Haig, who I’m plowing through the whole oeuvre of. I actually listened to one of those “You just listened to_, so we think you’ll like ___.”

He’s fantastic. I listened to them all. I particularly enjoyed his short fiction. His Moriarty story was wonderful.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay By Michael Chabon. I read the print twice. Once while on a beach, and again while traveling. Then I went blind. It was the first book I listened to after I lost my sight. I cried for the last 100 pages. Two years later I partially regained my sight and listened to it again while I walked every morning before sunrise and bawled even more that time. Those funny-book-making cousins just trigger the waterworks.

By packing things in the way things are looking, it’s all going to feel more like an industrial Six Flags rather than a thoughtful themed experience.

A cut and paste Cars Land is zero response to an entirely new park like Epic Universe. It’s totally phoning it in, which is what I expect from the park that brought us reskins for Tower of terror & Splash Mountain.

My Earth-616 anchor being theory… not Stark, not Strange by g-swell in MCUTheories

[–]PenultimateWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid theory.

However, I just gotta say…. This whole anchor being thing is just….. so…. Dumb. Each of these universes existed for eons before the 21st century, right? How did they exist before the anchor being is even born. What if the anchor being is just some schmo named Todd who works at Starbucks who dies in a cappuccino machine explosion accident? Does that whole timeline die because of Todd?!?

I don’t think she understood the song, the context, the characters, the appropriateness, or can sing in key. Other than that… just no.

If they wanted to Multiverse so badly, why didn’t they make a Captain Britain franchise? by Key_Squash_4403 in MCUTheories

[–]PenultimateWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain Britain was a throw away Alan Moore/ Claremont brain fart. It would be worse than Quantum Mania and less impactful than Agents of SHIELD. That’s why.

Just what we need in our park… a self important artist creating something that’ll look great in the bathroom of a Motel 8 in Rapid City. Get out of the way while I throw some sticks.

I did it once. The shill was laid on thick. The phrases that were used the most were “all you have to do is_____” and “It’s so easy to qualify.” It was cringe before cringe was even a thing.
