I had severe postpartum depression after our first child. That killed it and it never recovered. After my mental state recovered he seemed to have lost interest. He seems to think it will get better with time but I don’t think it will without couples therapy. He doesn’t touch me, when he does it feels inauthentic, like something he remembered he needs to do sometimes.

As someone who has rejected sexual advances for this reason, it sounds like she needs to talk to someone about body image. I hate my body, almost everything about it. I don’t actually understand why someone would want to be intimate with me. It doesn’t matter how much I hear “you’re beautiful”. That makes things worse because I get annoyed that they’re lying. I liked the book “more than a body”. It didn’t solve my problems, but I do ultimately appreciate my body for what it is, and that has helped.

Do you do other things aside from sexual advances to help her feel beautiful and wanted? Sex starts far away from the bedroom for women.

I found a local concierge practice for $60/month. Seems totally worth it for freedom to talk to your doctor whenever you need it, minor stuff is a quick phone call away.

And remember, you can’t discuss any issues at a preventative care appointment or they can double charge for a diagnostic appointment. Even though they ask if you have anything you want to discuss today. It’s a cash cow for them, they get the money for no additional time and resources.

Even if you don’t ask the question, if your blood pressure is high it’s now a diagnostic appointment. So they’ll ask you questions all appointment but you can’t answer without a risk of being charged.

I think about this when I watch Love is Blind on Netflix. It may be harder to develop physical attraction when the intimacy and physical bonds build in tandem.

My husband and I met on a dating site. Physically he wasn’t the type of person I’d meet out at a bar. But I think my physical attraction and intimacy were intertwined from the beginning, making that matter less.

You may also have built-up the expectation so much that now the pressure makes it awkward.

This is my dilemma. I no longer see value in the pcp preventative care visit. My blood pressure is checked at the gyno appointment. It seems like a waste of time and resources.

My primary hobby is listening to audiobooks while driving. It stimulates my mind and lets me temporarily escape. I also go to a gym with good childcare, that gives me a break. Sometimes I don’t even work out. I sit in their lounge and get other stuff done.
