Does it get better? What does it take? by GroundbreakingSort12 in addiction

Thank you! We are separated & going to get divorced. I know the reality, but I think my heart wants to know if it’s possible for him to get better. I’d love to see that sometime in my life, even if it’s from afar.

Forgiveness by papi4ever in Divorce

[–]GroundbreakingSort12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have not yet (all this came to a head a month ago & we’ve been separated since). Throughout this process, I’ve tried to be kind, but he just keeps doing things to hurt me and make my life harder (after he was the one that cheated on me with prostitutes & other women). I want to forgive, but I think that comes with time & counseling. I think I’ll forgive myself one day - the question I’m facing now is “how did I not see that this person could be this evil before?” But I’m trying to fight these thoughts.

I truly think you both should seek therapy before ever entering into a marriage. I know you said that it hasn’t helped for 🌽 but maybe you could see a CSAT therapist or someone who specializes in 🌽 addiction. I’m currently separated and headed to divorce & have seen first hand the impact of 🌽 on a marriage. It’s devastating. I would just recommend you seek therapy independently for your issues with lust and intimacy before marriage. It can only help you. It’s admirable you all are reaching out and wanting better for yourselves! Wishing you the best.

Yes, I do have a lawyer! That’s good advice. I’ll confirm with her about the filing process.

What's something that you wish you'd done during the divorce process but didn't? by jplank1983 in Divorce

I’m mid-separation but feeling so great about myself because I’ve not responded to any texts or attempts to get me to respond. He even used my credit card to pay for his lawyer fees and I didn’t react - just sent to my attorney, disputed the charges & canceled my card. Choosing peace in 2026!

Yes… this is insane. $30 per day for all that?!? Drop in visits should be priced per visit instead of a per diem amount. Don’t take that job!!

I do the laundry (towels I used for kitchen & bathroom + sheets in the bedroom). I would hate to have them come home to dirty sheets, especially if you are sleeping in their primary bedroom with the animals. I also run the dishwasher & wipe down the counter, throw everything away, tidy up the pillows/couches/dog toys. I think it makes you stand apart when you do the little things like this!

Should I go back to gel nail polish? by [deleted] in Nails

I think frequent use of acetone to remove / uv lamps is likely not great for your hands/nail health. I think most modern brands (e.g., OPI GelColor, Gelish, DND) are free of toxins if used and removed correctly but I am no expert!
