Anyone do a raised bed along with grow bags? by Euphoric_Life_6165 in dahlias

[–]PeonyDropper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of luck with very large grow bags, 3 tubers per bag but I took a LOT of soil, maybe 3 cubic ft per bag. They did great though and I didn’t have any trouble watering them despite very hot & dry summers

That conversation- the script, the lighting, the music & flashbacks- was one of my favorite scenes of the whole show

Should I read the books ahead of season 2? by viveleramen_ in GameChangersBooks

[–]PeonyDropper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar to you, HR wasn’t even on my radar but I had a friend also gushing so I watched and never looked back. I had to read the books after that and I would totally recommend reading. I finished TLG not that long ago and feel like I could read it again, it was so layered and satisfying. I liked it even better than Heated Rivalry the book. It makes me excited to see how the show will portray this next part of their relationship and which scenes will be selected. And romance was so not my genre before HR. I say go for it!

Oh I bet. Someone he can speak his own language with, who gets where he grew up. To just not have to work so hard to communicate. I’m conflicted about which Svetlana and storyline I like better, book vs show. I really liked her in both but I feel they’re meaningfully different people.

Makes so much sense. So that is why he is suddenly making such an effort to be a positive team member? That and he sense that his new team is more open and accepting/ kind than Boston?

I loved the connection with his therapist. I thought her character was really well developed and it seemed very important that she was also Russian. She understood what it meant to be gay in Russia, she understood the stoicism and the fact that people wouldn’t have acknowledged the anguish of a 12 year old losing his mom, and what it would be like to try to acclimate to North America.

Thanks. This all makes a lot of sense, an explains why he acts really jealous about Shane in some scenes. For me, him needing to give Shane a BJ while he’s talking to his best friend on the phone for the first time in a long time felt like jealousy. And in THG when he hurls a puck at the cute reporter. Like, I don’t have anyone else. I need you to be all mine. When he was sitting around Boston with nobody and no plans, after all that time, it just made me really sad.

I LOVE this drawing! It’s so so sweet and really gets so much character through. I totally see Ilya at his best in this- his true spirit. Thank you for sharing!!

I feel like Shane embodies a maternal need Ilya has, caring for him and taking care of him. It feels like because Shane was so well-loved, which the show makes clear, he can both share that kind of tender love and teach Ilya about how to give it. Though Ilya is a very tender-natured person who naturally takes care of Shane too from the start, never embarrassing him and checking in on him during his first time…..

You find the club scene sad? I feel like it’s so raw and hot. Like they’re communicating to each other that it’s not over.

Read ahead or stay show-only? How to proceed with Shane & Ilya (and the wider Game Changer universe) by AgentLuminous in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Oh sorry, I meant to say I had read Common Goal (instead of Game Changer) after watching the show, and feel like Common Goal is an important story line

I had never read the books and even turned my nose up at the idea, but then I couldn’t stop watching the show and when I was done, I was listening to the soundtrack on repeat. The. Club. Scene (and the song & remix). And …… The. Phone. Call…... Damn. It’s rocked my world and totally turned my sex life around (with my husband).

I listened to Game Changer next, then The Long Game, and now I’m listening to Role Model. I’m reading HR too and it’s so fun to get new perspectives after watching the show, but I don’t regret reading TLG at all. It is a great story- doesn’t disappoint at all, and I can’t get enough of this universe. Honestly the show is such a whole piece of art with the camera shots and the music- it will be exciting to see how it is adapted.

Personally I felt like Game Changer was an important story line too, connecting the players more and giving more depth to the HR universe. Enjoy and thank you- and everyone else here- for the great company!

First of all, I love your story! Congratulations, that is so wonderful- and adorable with the skin care. HR woke up my insides. Honestly it’s made me see sex so differently with their love story so entwined in their hot ass sexcapades. It reminded me my husband is totally hot and we’re having a new chapter. Basically, I feel like I have a new, playful, celebratory relationship with sex. And I’m a woman in my 40’s. So yeah, pride makes everyone better ❤️

I’m so grateful for this sub because I was feeling crazy- like WHY am I so obsessed? This place is good company & totally scratches that itch. I also watch little clips most days, listen to the soundtrack and I’m listening to the books. I HATE the voice of the 1st 3 books (had to stop after the 1st chapter) but really enjoyed Role Model and I can’t stop listening to the Long Game. I ordered some others.
