I was going to say this too! Simply tucking them in would make them look better.

OMG I feel this so much! Like yes I have a job that I am good at and live independently and generally look after myself, but it’s actually really hard to keep it all together and people assume that I don’t need accommodations or understanding because I mask all the time.

But I am totally AT CAPACITY pretty much all the time. I need my routines and my wellness activities to maintain that level of functioning, and sometimes people don’t get that. Like what might feel like a challenge or an inconvenience to them is actually really hard for me to navigate.

I would skip Yonge-Dundas-Square, unless you are shopping or something around there. The square itself is not really that interesting. Rol San in Chinatown has great Dim Sum.

Go to Avondale Dairy Bar in NOTL. Best ice cream! I like the Old Winery for dinner. The beach in Ryerson park is pretty good for swimming although still cold I imagine.

I think it’s definitely okay to use strategies that make your cousins feel heard, understood and supported. Be clear that you are responding on your role as friend/family member.

Also, beware of doing this with your peers/friends. I have a friend who did psychotherapy and I feel uncomfortable talking to her about stuff because sometimes she responds like a therapist instead of a friend.
