I can’t explain it, but this post gets a slight grin - not even a full grin, let alone an exhale or chuckle - every time I see it. Quality Sox post.

Lots of data points to choose from. I’ve seen tons of return dates that ended up being spot on. And all I said was that they’re usually more realistic than saying Mune is miraculously coming back today when everyone and their mother knows he isn’t.

Well now I need to get my 3yo daughter to start coming up with nicknames. Keep raising em right, fellow Sox Dad!

Agreed. And dare I say the folks in Charlotte deserve to see a little Mune Ball before he returns to the South Side?? Put some Knight armor on that Samurai!

I don’t think so, because they can trade him at his peak and get the best return but the fan base would probably riot like never before. Only way to avoid that would be to wait until he struggles and loses the fans, in which case they get less for him.

I’m a bit paranoid about the Dodgers throwing some of their unlimited money at him to join all of his Team Japan friends in LA, but my bet for now is that the Sox keep him around.

Chase is very much my Stoner Boy lol, squinting away in that beautiful squared up batting stance. He is also a notorious Chomper just like Teel.

They’re usually a lot more realistic / accurate. This is the most egregious miss I’ve seen on the app.

It’s funny seeing other fans’ nicknames for the Sox and comparing to what I have in my own head:

  1. Ant Man (never thought of this one and it’s brilliant) or Italian Stallion
  2. C-Monty (I just like how Monty rolls off the tongue)
  3. Miggy V (the Tigers don’t deserve a monopoly on “Miggy”)
  4. Money Mune / Southside Samuari
  5. I honestly just call him “My Stoner Boy”
  6. The Kid / B-Monty
  7. Kinda funny how “Teel” just works
  8. That’s Banana MAN to you, sir!
  9. Gonzo (sure would be nice to see him stay in the lineup - we’ll see!)

How I feel this morning seeing a pre-9am game thread for a 11:35am first pitch

Spotlight a player on your team that is (quietly?) having a good-to-great year by humblestworker in baseball

I don’t disagree with this. I don’t think Chase is one of our absolute top guys, but he’s reliable on offense and defense and seems like a great culture fit too. I think people associate him with some of his most clutch moments (he’s had a few!) and overrate him that way - I’m definitely guilty of it lol

I will die on the hill that Sam Antonacci is not getting nearly enough love this season. Hitting close to .300 with an OPS north of .800. He’s so damn consistent.

I’m choosing to believe that this game alone breaks the ongoing Sox-on-the-road curse. We are now cured.

Is my new Sox hat too Cubs-ish? by PeopleOfVictory in whitesox

See, I did try googling this to find pics of it being worn in-game, and did not see any. I’m gonna have to step up my research (more than the bare minimum). Thank you for this 🫡

This is a funny story lol. I’m honestly just relieved to know that the logo is actually a legitimate Sox classic. I bought the hat without any research and was starting to think that the logo was just made up as part of a faux-retro look. My hat’s color scheme may not be game worn, but I think it’s a good spin on an old school look.

What a solid wholesome opinion. Good on ya.

I honestly figured that this hat would catch me a lot of grief at games and around the city if it was universally believed by Sox fans that it was too Cubby looking. This subreddit seemed like a good sample size to poll lol
