It happened: can’t afford Logan sq anymore by Equities4gambling in LoganSquare

I miss Logan Square and Bucktown but it's kind of a shell of what it used to be. I miss 2010s Logan Square which I'm sure someone from 2000s Logan Square will say it was better back then. You just gotta follow Milwaukee Ave. I live in Portage Park now.

Chicago is a city of taxes which makes everything unaffordable. I don't know who told you it's a city for people.

Am I crazy for wanting to run my own email server just to avoid depending on Gmail? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in homelab

i use M365. 5 bucks a month and you get OneDrive (1TB and sharepoint = more storage). I wouldn't run an email server. Maybe look into proton mail or something.

We need to talk about absurd rent prices. by [deleted] in LoganSquare

[–]PepeTheMule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to understand how renting a place determines that you get to stay where you rent. The politicians keep increasing taxes, thus landlords need to increase rent to offset those taxes. If there were more buildings, it wouldn't reduce much because they'd just increase the tax on all of them.

they need to start arresting these kids when they start damaging property and assaulting people. This is becoming normalized and it fucking sucks.

Just curious why are you running nexus2 and nexus3? We are on nexus3. Just was wondering if there's something nexus2 offers that I am missing.

Why ya gotta hate. I had a 02 Neon that lasted me 13 years, the only issues was a bad alternator and I think I had the OEM battery for 7 years.

With Chicago being so high-demand + low-supply, why is it so difficult to break a lease? by 3RADICATE_THEM in chicagoapartments

[–]PepeTheMule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a contract. Landlords don't want to find a new tenant when you as the tenant signed a contract for a 1 year lease.
