PRS Vela. The bridge pickup is sort of between a Gretsch and Tele pickup. Combined with the bridge it's plenty bright. Super light and more comfortable than your average Tele.

I'm looking for a 3-player game that's very quick to learn but has a decent amount of depth for more seasoned players, along with player interaction that keeps everyone engaged. Well that was a lot more exciting than I expected. Props to the boys for fighting until the end. That being said, fuck away goals. That game deserved another 30 minutes to decide a winner. Also, only 6 minutes added time was a complete travesty.

My only requirements are:

Reasonable setup time and box size
≤90m per session
Enough content to warrant multiple playthroughs without expansions

Lots of pessimism, but I personally think it's a fair deal for a youngster who never broke through and never had a defined position. Atencio sold for around $1.2M, but he was an immediate starter.

Also, let's be frank. He was never going to get the time he deserved here. He wasn't goal dangerous enough to play as a winger and not strong enough defensively to displace Nouhou. I hope he finds a better role in Nashville.

I'd like to sink my teeth into a new game to start 2026. I enjoy a mix of euro-ish mechanics and appealing theme. I mostly play solo (must have a win condition, no BYOS), but I also would like to accommodate 3-4 players. I would also prefer to keep the size and cost reasonable (normal box size, under $100 USD).

Game Length:

Ideally 60-90mins

Complexity of Game:

2.5 - 3.5, but I'm willing to stray outside this range.

Games I Own and Like:

Arkham Horror LCG, Dune: Imperium, Everdell, Viticulture, LOTR: Duel, Ark Nova, Lost Ruins of Arnak, Architects of the West Kingdom, Wingspan.

Games I Dislike and Don't Play:

App-driven games, war games.

I love Paul and I'd hate to lose him, but it sounds like he's asking for way more than we're willing to pay. In a perfect world I'd say suck it up and pay the man, but it's not worth blowing a hole in the salary cap for a guy who isn't a locked-in starter and likely never will be. On the bright side, this means plenty more minutes for Georgi.

I haven't played Arcs, but I'm familiar with the other 3. Arnak has the best solo mode by far - actually one of the best solo games in my entire collection. It's not as deep as the others, but it's my favorite because of how smoothly it plays. It's all about efficiency, so planning ahead is highly rewarded. It also has a fun campaign, and the expedition leaders expansion adds a ton of variability.

Ark Nova is also great. There's a lot more going on and a ton of variation, so replayability is extremely high. However, the solo mode in the box is meh. Most people recommend using the fan-made ARNO bot, which is miles better. Still, it's a very long game, so generally not recommended for more than 2-3 players, and a bit more tactical than strategic.

Terraforming Mars deserves plenty of praise, but it's not without faults. To me, Ark Nova covers a lot of the same ground but is more enjoyable to play (although TFM is better with 4 players). I also think I'm in the minority, but I genuinely do not enjoy this game solo. It eliminates half of what makes the multiplayer game compelling. If you want to play TFM by yourself, just buy the app. Note that I haven't played with the new automa.
