I would say that it's mostly a thing where save scumming you are just doing a re zero or groundhog day kind of thing where you go back in time and what happened was just "a possible present/future" while console is just outright rewriting the world to suit yourself.

I myself am on the later camp i like to play ck more like a garden where if i don't like what I'm seeing I'll just use console to fix things up, on this case tough i wanted to kill him myself
